Labour could be "in a very bad place" at the next general election if Tony Blair does not quit as leader by May, Europe minister Geoff Hoon says.

So the backstabbing and "breifings" (sp) are still going on, any bets that Blair is shown the door before christmas?

Geoff Hoon (or should that be Geoff Buffoon or perhaps just simply Geoff Who?

He's not exactly a serious heavy-weight in our 'political firmament' and is a man with a little axe of his own to grind after the demotion in the last cabinet reshuffle.

It's actually pretty lame of the guy to come in after everyone else has packed it in with his own caveat-laden little 'could be - almost -might be' type dig.

Slow news day huh?

Blair wont go until next year. Thats for sure. Not unless someone comes out in public and challenges him.

Which I dont think is going to happen.

Most of them are trying to line themselves up, so they do notloose their jobs when he does actually go.
