There was no love lost during the debate between Cynthia McKinney and Hank Johnson, contenders for US Rep. from Georgia’s 4th Congressional District. The long overdue debate (McKinney had earlier snubbed two previous candidates debates) saw sparks fly, and the customary end-of -debate handshake nowhere to be found.

McKinney showed a bit of desperation when she attacked a bankruptcy filing by Johnson back in the 80's - desperate because she resorted to attacking a man because he went broke, and because Johnson admitted the experience was humbling.

Johnson attacked the fact that only one of McKinney's paltry 64 sponsored bills had ever passed into law, and that was a real accomplishment - it sponsored the renaming of a public building.
Johnson said that her poor record proved that McKinney was unable to work with her colleagues. He also pointed out her record of missing key votes, most recently, to raise the minimum wage, and more importantly, to reauthorize the 1965 Voting Rights Act.

It remains a mystery to me why anyone would vote for this woman. She has an antagonistic attitude to go along with her poor congressional record. Maybe the voters will finally wake up, and Mr. Johnson will be the people's choice next Tuesday.

The first mystery (of many) is where does the woman get money for campaigning?
Answer - NOT from her district! Most comes from California and Arab groups. The
people of her area don't give to her campaign. It mostly comes from outside
sources.

Arab contributions

Mohamed Badr contributed thousands to her campaign. He's from the Middle East
Shipping Company out of Yemen (Yemen .. of USS Cole Bombing fame)

Her donor records -

Her 'Power Ranking' in congress is only 408 out of 435. That means that only
27 people have less power to get things done than she does.

And then she has the gall to criticize her opponent for taking contributions from -Oh no! - Republicans!

Just goes to show that she is divisive in more ways than one.:shk:

Can anyone tell me where to send a check to ANYONE running against her?

I would love to contribute.

It remains a mystery to me why people who aren't Ms. McKinney's constituents care so much about her Georgia primary. After all, she doesn't affect your life. She affects those who are her true constituents.

But then again, I witnessed Susan Smith and Charles Stuart in their heyday use their prejudices as a form of attention.

The use of Cynthia McKinney in this manner on this thread is not any different.

Yes .. WHY do all those NON CONSTITUENTS give so much money to her
campaign? Why do all those foreign Arabs care so much about her Georgia
primary?? Why do all those Californians care so much about her Georgia
primary? This is indeed a mystery. A mystery that needs to be checked for
corruption and influence peddling.

Where there is smoke ... there is fire. And all this money pouring in from
non constituents and foreigners who shouldn't care about her primary is
definately creating a whole lotta' smoke.

This article talks about Hank Johnson who has a very good chance of unseating
her. It also has a link to where you can contribute to his campaign.

All right. Keep on fighting the good fight, Susan Smith. I'm sure that Hank Johnson will thank you.

Democrat or Republican,

Ms Mckinney rubs me the wrong way.

She's arrogant as all hell.

An interesting blog exposing some of her lies. The blog is from one of her own
constituents who happens to be black.

Another interesting site that says her buddy - Coz Carson - calls white people
'knuckle draggers'.

I have mixxed emotions about this political contest. On one hand it seems desirable to have Mckinney reelected in the hope that the democrats win a majority in the house of representives and restore some checks and balances on the federal government. But on the other hand reelecting Mckinney would probably drop the average IQ in the house of representatives by several points.

I am from Georgia. There has been a lot of talk amongst republics and taslk radio hosts that they WANT ms. McKinney to be re-elected. They WANT her to be in Congress. Why?

Because she is an embarressment to the Democratic party. She plays the race card WAY too much. She assaulted a police officer and got away with it. AND she is being *bought* by way of her campaign donations. What an ugly, ugly politician ( I am not speaking of her appearance).

Thats what I am gathering from folks in Georgia.

A thug with a badge put his hands on a member of the us house of representatives and got away with it due to partisan politics. Mckinney isn't too damn smart, but she is the elected representative of her congressional district. Police abuse has gotten so out of hand that the police believe they have license to manhandle our elected representatives for light and transient reasons. Im glad the grand jury got it right and filed no charges.

Well, it seems the run-off in her district was a bust.

Hank Johnson takes the nomination.
