With the recent attacks from Hizbollah and the response Israel have given, many countries have attacked Israel for its hard-line position. Many have asked why did Hizbollah attack Israel if it knew what the response would be?

Is Hizbollah trying to isolate Israel and create anti-Israel feeling in the Middle East and on the international scene aswell?

Think about it, look at the media, politicans and numerous countries who have been very vocal against Israel. Even the UN has been saying Israel has over stepped the mark, is this what Hizbollah wants? Israel being made to look the bad guys.

I'm thinking Israel is doing a good job all by themselves creating an international resentment towards them.

They aren't only killing libanees civilians and Hisbollah soldiers. They are also targetting Red Cross ambulances, Red Cross workers, UN outposts and UN workers.

I don't see any logical or rational way anyone can say thats Hisbollahs fault.

But still, its played into Hizbollah hands.

Israel have made a mess, a huge mess. EU is not too please either (and if you recall the "so called talks" about Israel joining the EU in the future, then this is going to help their chances).

The Israeli government has hinted several times that an EU membership bid is a possibility, but the EU itself proposes instead the closest possible integration "just short of full membership." Faster advancement of such plans is somewhat hampered by the current instability in the Middle East. Much international criticism of the occupation of the Palestinian territories also comes from European capitals and the occupation would certainly not pass European human rights standards; general public opinion of Israel is also particularly poor within the EU.

Played into their hands?
So you think they abducted 2 soldiers thinking that Israel would bomb 1/2 the country, destroy infrastructure and murder innocents for an abduction?? If they had sent in a force to hunt down the kidnappers and have a resue operation thats a different story, but this, this was totally uncalled for and no one planned this but themselves. As has been reported and discussed in other threads, they had been planning for such a thing. They had a year to change their plans and do things differently. This was THEIR choice to do it like this. Hizbollah was wrong for kidnapping 2 people...Israel was 300x (and growing) more wrong to destroy the country and murder civilians who had nothing to do with the abduction .
