300, The Movie

Frank Millers graphic novel 300, based on the Battle of Thermopylae, will now come to the big screen. It will focus on the 300 spartans who face the overwehlming force of the Persian army to their deaths.

Directing the film is Zack Snyder, who directed such movies as Dawn of the Dead, and will direct The Watchmen and Rainbow Six.


The Film is unique because much of it will be filmed on blue screen, which the backrounds will be pasted on later. The technique was also used on Sin City, also written by Frank Miller. It will also be in english, rare now with so many movies such as The Passion, Apocalypto and Hannibal all being filmed in dead languages

I haven't read 300 but I'm looking forward to this film.

300 will be rated "R" for graphic battle sequences throughout, some sexuality and nudity.

The 300 website has teaser posters from comic con on the site now and a note explaining that they cannot show the teaser trailer due to violence and nudity. Awesome.

Seeing those posters has really gotten me exited about this.

The first teaser trailer for 300 hit the web today. It was on iFilm but has been taken down. I don't know what is up with that.

Anyway here it is.

Im on vacation for one day and I miss the biggest story ever. But the trailer looks awesome, it definatly has an epic feel, I cant wait to see it

This movie looks like its going to be great.

There is also an older movie called "The Spartan 300", I haven't seen it, but its supposed to be a great produciton.

LOTR, Gladiator, King Arthur, The Trojan War, they used to call these kinds of movies 'spectacles', like Anthony and Cleopatra, Spartacus, etc. Seems appropriate.

Just seen the trailer, and this film looks like its gonna be awesome.

For me, this will be another ' must see ' film.

Warner Brothers has gotten Youtube to remove all the uploads of the 300 trailer.

They have also gotten every website that was hosting the trailer to remove it.
This was a popular link but it has also been forced to remove the trailer.

Its really odd that they're suppressing the trailer, usually companies want an internet buzz for their product. Perhaps they are hoping that by suppressing it, people will want it more?

You really should, it's nothing short of a work of brilliance.

Snyder did a pretty good job on the DOTD remake so I'm quietly hopeful, I'm preparing for another train wreck that was V for Vendetta though.
