i have a movie file that i can't open...

windows media player doesn't play it...

it says "error downloading codec"...

i then tried using divx and it gave me an error message and says that the video data is "FOURCC code 'IV32'"...

which codec will help me???

FOURCC codecs are for DivX version 4 and later

Fourcc code iv32 - Video Codecs

The sources above should help you acquire the proper one.

Use GSpot to find the codec that any media file was encoded in.

This may be a bit late but what you need is this :
home.hccnet.nl...

its the second from the top , it has just about every codec that you will find on the net plus it has some good media players that will play everything

I agree. I used to use this in Windows and never had a problem playing anything.
