That light year one does sound odd.

Isnt a light year how far you would travel if traveling at the speed of light for a year? And if thats correct, wouldnt a natuical light year be a measurment of speed rather than distance?

Some random facts about Giraffes... (Dont ask why)

# Although giraffes are relatively prevalent in most parts of Africa, some populations are threatened by poachers

# There are many kinds of giraffes in the world : Kordofan Giraffe,Angolan Giraffe, southern Giraffe,Nigrian Giraffe,Reticulated Giraffe,Masai Giraffe and Rofts Giraffe

# Height and excellent eyesight enable giraffes to keep an eye on each other from far away. A dozen may be dispersed over 1/2 mile (0.8 km) of savanna and still be considered to be in a herd

# Each time a giraffe picks up its neck it picks up 550 pounds!

# Giraffes are one of the few animals born with horns.

# Like human fingerprints, each giraffe's coat is unique.

# Giraffes are fast and can reach speeds of up to 35 mph.

# Giraffes live in the African savannah, scrub, and open acacia woodlands south of the Sahara

# Males and females tend to eat from different parts of a tree to ensure that the sexes do not compete for food.

# Oxpecker birds like to help giraffes by eating bugs off their backs

# Female giraffes weigh 1540-2600 lb (700-1182 kg) on average

# The mighty giraffe can drink 12 gallons in one setting

Bet you didnt know (or want to know) all of that!!!

Persia was renamed to Iran, meaning "Land of Aryans" as a pro-Nazi gesture.

The police officer who was supposed to be guarding Lincoln's box seat at Ford's Theater was not punished for leaving his post, but was later fired for an unrelated incident of being drunk on duty.

Legend has it that Catherine the Great died while attempting to have sex with a horse, but she actually died on a toilet.

The use of colloquial language in a Florida law accidentally provided tax relief intended for the poor to every resident of a town named "Dire Straights".

Franklin Roosevelt was married to Teddy Roosevelt's niece- they were cousins. This was the 6th incest in their family tree, which goes back to Edward II of England.

Vice President William Rufus DeVane King had a sexual affair with the succeeding president, James Buchanan.

It is physically impossible for any human being to consume an entire gallon of whole milk at once.
