Iraqi insurgents caused millions of dollars damage to US (with pictures)

Wars aren't cheap. specially when the enemy hits you!
Just unbelievable that this humvee's, trucks, tanks and helicopters were destroyed by insurgents!

That’s war, damn it. Everything burns. If our media did its job and actually showed that we at war and the kind of damage out boys are taking daily, more people would be asking the question "for what".

Can't really figure out what hit them......

1) Roadside IED

2) Some anti tank missile which I have no idea how they hide them.

DO you think this affects the resolve of the United States?
Maybe we'll cut n run, if we see more of these?

Maybe it was to provide psychological ammunition, to those who are against
us winning this war..Some of whom even live in the US, and post in this thread?

How many lives is it going to take for all the troops to be pulled out? 10,000? 20,000? Pulling out to save the lives of troops isn't "cut n run", it's doing the right thing.

Do you honestly think the insurgents will stop?

The sooner the war is allowed to be fought.
The lower the number of casualties.

How long do you want it to take?
How many lives do you want it to take? apparently more.

Seriously though...Why exactly ARE we in war? And don't say 9/11, because we didn't do anything in Afganhistan (from what I could see in the media), and Bin Ladin is still out there (unless that wasn't our real target, only a reason to throw troops into the desert). Can a nation really declare war on Terrorism? I mean...these people aren't really terrorists...since they have a reason, to kill the infidel. I could see Serial Murderers and Timothy McVay as terrorists, they had no purpose for what they did...But these insurgents actually feel they're doing the right thing.



Someone wanna help clear this up for me?

Also, how could an abandoned crappy military take out some of the most updated tanks and 'copters?!

As they are allready fighting a war - like vietnam its guerilla war - and the same thing is slowly happening - you cannot send in regular troops to deal with unconventional forces.

And the gloves ARE off for the troops who know how to fight in a guerilla war - its just the porr gumpies who don`t have a clue are the ones getting blown up.

War was declared against terrorism, specifically the islamic extreme flavor.

You've already destroyed the country yourself. I don't recall dozens of suicide bombings killing countless civillians every day.

How exactly are we stopping people from dying right now in Iraq? We're not.

We have already won the war.

Now ... as far as the insurgents go... YES, they will stop.
Take a look at WWII. After we won the war with Germany
the insurgents there continued for three years. They called
themselves the SS Werewolves. They did many of the same
type of things that the insurgents in Iraq are doing. Eventually
the Germans themselves got tired of the Werewolves and had
protests and the such to help get rid of them.

The war has been won by us already.
The Iraqis are free, and they are voting.

From what Im seeing you believe the Iraq war introduced the suicide bombing right? If not in Iraq then somewhere else.

Humster is called "disable in place" most of those Abrahms that were destroyed were done so by our own equipment, usually after a road side bomb blows apart the carriage assembly. Some rather large roadside bombs are capable of destroying an Abrahms though most of the damage came from our forces destroying the equipment so that they could be of no use to enemy forces. Sabot holes are from other abrahms destroying the downed tank.

In regards to the APC and AAV etx those are easily damaged by a modest roadside bomb.

While tragic losing both equipment and loss of life, this only means the defence works here at home will get new and more contracts to replace the damaged equipment. In regards to teh Abrahms I am sure that the higher ups approve of the extensive "disable in place" policy as it means the ground force will get more money to buy new versions of the abrahms. The DOD says the army Mech unit must have so many tank units per division and not having those tanks in "repairable" condition gives them justification for a new round of defence spending.

Again this all comes down to money and how it is spent. This will also give the Republican house and senante more room to negotiate down the extensice liberal spending on home "care" type issues in the name of national security.

First of all, I proved in another thread that Clinton used the same justifuications to bomb Iraq. How could Bush have lied, if the exact same reasons were used by not only democrats, but democrats in majority power.

The accusations that Bush lied are 100% politicaly motivated. It reminds me of how the republicans attacked Truman after we went to war with Japan.
