you just have to love the global economy. While Airbus and Boeing are sharpening thier knives for the pending WTO battle, EADS the parent company of Airbus is busy making a major part for the new 787. The aft pressure bulkhead will be made in Germany. Airbus just gave the formal go-ahead to build the A350 which is positioned to take on the 787 and even part of the 777 market. THis is not the first time however that EADS has supplied parts to Boeing and vice versa

SEATTLE - European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co., which owns 80 percent of Boeing Co.'s archrival Airbus SAS, will supply an important part for Boeing's new 787 Dreamliner.

Boeing supplier Vought Aircraft Industries Inc. said Monday that EADS' military aircraft unit will supply the 787 aft pressure bulkhead from its operations in Augsburg, Germany. The aft pressure bulkhead is the rear portion of the airplane's pressurized cabin.

Dallas-based Vought is a major structural partner for the 787, responsible for two aft fuselage sections. But it is outsourcing some of the work to other companies, including EADS and Korean Air Lines' aerospace division.
