FEMA and the US Governments incompetence.

Stumbling Storm-Aid Effort Put Tons of Ice on Trips to Nowhere.

I think this is pretty appalling, I want your thoughts.

Not surprizing. Why do people think that government, especially the federal gov is nimble or efficient? Whether it be handling a disaster or taxing and redistributing income. This is not new. The biggest mistake the feds made what getting caught up in the negative hype the media created. This just lead to even more unorganized scrambling. The reason we have state and local governments is because smaller, more centralized, and nimble gov entities are needed for things like this.

When your house is on fire you don't call the feds. The fact is the local and state officials bumbled this effort and the feds bumbled in trying to cover their ass and kiss up to media when they didn't need to. All intelligent people in America knew where the problem was. It stopped at the Mayor's and the Governor's office.
