Interesting, they are coming up with so many different operations necessary to put troops in the street and keep us safe from the "terrorists".
Create the crisis, provide the solution. Here's the interesting part of the article, or at least one of the interesting parts:
"Further, Granite Shadow posits domestic military operations, including intelligence collection and surveillance, unique rules of engagement regarding the use of lethal force, the use of experimental non-lethal weapons, and federal and military control of incident locations that are highly controversial and might border on the illegal. "

Another part that caught my beady little eyes:
"NORTHCOM has worked closely with U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM), as well as the secret branches of non-military agencies and departments to enforce "unity of command" over any post 9/11 efforts."

Granite Shadow plan has been classified above Top Secret by adding a Special Category (SPECAT) compartment restricting access.

"A standing army has always been used by despots to enforce their rule and to keep their people under subjection. Its existence was therefore considered a great threat to peace and stability in a republic and a danger to the rights of the nation. Since every aspect of government was designed to prevent the rise of tyranny, strict limits and control over the military were considered absolutely necessary. It was essential that the military be subordinate to civilian control."
-Thomas Jefferson on Politics & Government

So which is it, the way this country was set up to be, or the way they are momentously changing it?
For those who don't think there is much importance in this issue, please review the reasons and later preventive measures, the USA was established under.

But don't worry, not all of the people who are in the Armed Forces will follow unlawful orders. Some will yes, but they are only a fraction of the majority. Of the 5,000 some inactive reservists called back to active duty, about half reported in. That at least displays some are not blindly doing as they are told.

What is there to gain from this exercise, who benefits?
This is as self evident, as the truths we hold.

Been keeping an eye on this, and thus far have found a cover, see link. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff CONPLAN 0300/0400. Here are the other 43 pages, for anyone who likes.

Policies and the rest, for those who really like to read, or archive files.

Granite Shadow is the twin to Power Geyser, a program I first revealed to The New York Times in January...In the case of Power Geyser, the classified plan is CJCS CONPLAN 0300, whose entire title is classified. According the military documents, the unclassified title is "Counter-Terrorism Special Operations Support to Civil Agencies in the event of a domestic incident."

Or something I have came to call it, USG-IDT-COOP, found at FAS as linked. Or @ FBI.GOV, but it is a pdf like the FEMA doc.

A great source for back ground or history on this is edu.yourself.
