Having been incarcerated in Montana for the last month I thought I would share the real gem of this area (sorry Yellowstone).

I made the drive across and around Glacier National the weekend of August 21-22nd. Here are some links that detail the area:

www.nps.gov...

www.glacier.national-park.com...

www.glacierparkphotos.com...

This is a Summer only trip, as the roads are closed during Winter. The park is still open for Alpine sports, but you won't be able to access the inner reaches of the park.

The minimum admission is $20.00 US for a seven day pass, but I would encourage anyone who enjoys this kind of recreation to buy the National Park annual pass for $50.00 US, as this will give you 365 days worth of access to all US National Parks.

I would suggest bringing food and drinks for the drive, and be ready to take a lot of pictures, especially if you are adventurous and hike into the wilderness. The best place s to stay are Kalispell and whitefish if you are just going to glacier, or Missoula if you wish to split between Glacier and Yellowstone.

A some pictures I took myself:

(sorry, sorry, just found this post
)

I want to go on vacation with you next time.

Sniffle.

It looked amazing; another one to add to my list of "stuff I want to see here in these oo-night-ed states".

I'd love to hike there, oh yes!

That will be a tough one Tinkleflower, as I don't take any vacations... I'm actually paid to travel to all these exotic places.

Endless Summer Monkeys, not just for one long holiday anymore...

Jealous monkeys...not just for tinkled flowers anymore

(And I still think you're wonderful. I'm just jealous as all greeneyed thingies would be)

I find it odd how many times people "ape" my sign offs... I'm flattered.

(And I still think you're wonderful. I'm just jealous as all greeneyed thingies would be)

Good Graces Monkeys, not just for "all's well, that ends well" anymore...

Me monkey, you are a lucky monkey. Some of my most trancendental moments were spent dead drifting a beatis spinner down the middle fork of Squaw Creek. Good TV.

Peace
