Having been incarcerated in Montana for the last month I thought I would share the
real gem of this area (sorry Yellowstone).
I made the drive across and around Glacier National the weekend of August 21-22nd. Here are some links that detail the area:

This is a Summer only trip, as the roads are closed during Winter. The park is still open for Alpine sports, but you won't be able to access the
inner reaches of the park.
The minimum admission is $20.00 US for a seven day pass, but I would encourage anyone who enjoys this kind of recreation to buy the National Park
annual pass for $50.00 US, as this will give you 365 days worth of access to
all US National Parks.
I would suggest bringing food and drinks for the drive, and be ready to take a lot of pictures, especially if you are adventurous and hike into the
wilderness. The best place s to stay are Kalispell and whitefish if you are just going to glacier, or Missoula if you wish to split between Glacier
and Yellowstone.
