Well, since the contest ends tomorrow I suppose its time I got officially entered. Otherwise I might go out partying Friday night and forget.

So, Here are several Haiku's I wrote while trying to figure out which ones I wanted to enter. These are NOT entrants, just some I thought i'd share since i wrote them this week. My official entries will be posted in the post following this one.

Here goes:

Illuminati
Conspiratorially
Considerable

Shadows in the wind
Give secrets to those who seek
The truth I will find

Reflections of light
I will cast like a mirror
To dispel the dark

Lead me not to peace
But to truth and all its pain
I won’t runaway

Blazing your own path
Is never the easy way
The truth is worth it

Dream your dreams at night
Let your day be filled with truth
Much too soon, you’ll die

Keep you in the dark
The goal of those who deceive
Knowledge is the light

A lie is a lie
Even when it’s told with skill
You must see thru it

Educate your mind
All else will fall into place
Deny ignorance

Rise above the lies
Know you are a child of god
Pure love, is the key

Grab the shotgun ma
The new world order’s coming
There’s bankers to shoot

OK, actually I wrote a few more but they were so bad I immediately deleted them

My entries into the contest. I hope you enjoy.

Conspiricy:

Never doubt my friend
Forces conspire against you
Knowledge is defense

Ignorance:

Lies will trumpet loud
The truth is but a whisper
Listen carefully

Love and light to each of you,

Wupy

While my first was dedicated to ignorance, this is dedicated to conspiracy...

The beacons of truth
In mysteries are hidden
Sowing confusion

Answers are not known
Hidden in the mists of time
Unlikely to rise

Deep inside our brain
We wish to know the answers
Though we know we won't

Due to Hurricane Katrina and my loss of power, I wasn't able to complete the contest on Friday. Writers I hope you don't mind, but I will now extend till Monday when life is little bit more normal. We still have a bit of cleaning up to do.

Sorry to keep you waiting, but to compensate, I'm waiving the two entry limit, and raising it up to 5 (can't make unlimited since we know MrWupy has probably written an entire collection by now
)

till monday then

Hope you're faring well...too bad your misfortune is allowing all sorts of us to go scrambling for pens.

I wouldn't mind seeing some more of your haikus too, worldwatcher...

Now we pass smokescreens
To probe deeper and deeper
There the gem of truth

I'm sorry to hear that mother nature saw fit to make a mess in your yard. I hope you and yours got through it none the worse for wear.

Anyway, I'm already happy with my ignorance haiku but maybe I'll throw just one more in so the odds aren't stacked against me too heavily.

I guess this one is sort of both an Ignorance and a Conspiracy Haiku. Afterall, in this sad day and age the perfect conspiracy bases itself on exploiting ignorance.

All I do is work
I don't want answers- just cash
I'm a model slave

Wow, sorry to hear Mother Nature gave you a beating. Those can be fun when your with your significant other but when the lights go out and transformers are exploding you know its time to yell the safe word

And by the way, there is nothing wrong with being prolific. I would rather write volumes and say nothing then write nothing and face a world unto which I have not contributed.

That said my love, I submit the following five haikus to the contest and place my fate in the hands of the judges.

Never doubt my friend
Forces conspire against you
Knowledge is defense

Lies will trumpet loud
the truth is but a whisper
Listen carefully

Shadows in the wind
Give secrets to those who seek
the truth I will find

Reflections of light
I will cast like a mirror
to dispel the dark

Lead me not to peace
but to truth and all its pain
I won’t runaway

Love and light to each of you,

Wupy

Ignorance is bliss
Standing in the silent calm
Of a hurricane

Brazen arrogance
Of sand castle empires fall
Victim to high tides

Mocking of the weak
Is a dangerous practice
For they are legion

Normally I steer well clear of poetry. It's been years since I wrote any of my own, but this contest has prompted me to look back into it, mainly due to the truly incredible talent of some of the poetry I have been reading. Some of the entries, and in particular those by mrwupy and masqua, have made me feel very stupid indeed.

Since I have three more entries, I shall post two serious ones and one not-so-serious one for the contest. I'll leave it up to you to decide which is which.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The bullet won’t hurt
A shame – you’re such a bright kid,
You shouldn’t have asked

Ignorance deafens
While Truth beside it meekly
Whispers with your voice

Protecting the Earth
Since 1947
From alien slime

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will also post these final two haikus, which are definitely not for the contest, but more to acknowledge the staggering depth of talent I have witnessed and the tireless dedication of worldwatcher in once again providing us an outlet for creativity.

Thinking up haikus
Is far harder than it seems
Good luck to you all

Thanks to worldwatcher
For graciousness and patience
A mod without peer
