Its actually a percussion lock, not a flintlock. I found the picture on a museum site but no information accompanied it, sorry. Its proberbly a predecessor of the pepperbox pistol:

They were originally used as an alternative

Try looking up the Keltec Sub weapons series. I own a Keltec Sub-2000 fold-able rifle. Flick a switch, and its small enough to fit into a bookbag easily, flick a switch, and its a full size rifle. Mine is in 40.S&W
