Ill refer to my previous relation as to why this is a bad idea...

A cult who believes their leader is the second coming of Jesus wants to use a public school cafeteria to hold their gospel.

The school denies their application for rental of the space.

The cult sues the school on the grounds of religious descrimination, based on the fact that the public school has previously allowed Christian organizations use of such facilities.

Would the cult lose the suit? Or should the school be expected to provide the space regardless of the religious intent?

If they were to let one in, they would be expected to let them all in. By denying them all, there is no room for public outrage. This is the essence of seperation of church and state. There is no bias, because bias is not even allowed to come into consideration.

To elaborate with a real world and relatable scenario.. say a public school does allow a Christian church to hold mass in their gym on Sundays. This school is located in a district heavily populated by orthodox Muslims... the people whos taxes are paying for the school. If you were one of these muslim parents, how comfortable would you be knowing your tax dollars are paying to provide rental space for Christians to worship where your child plays dodgeball?

Boy Scouts are one thing. They don't worship during their meetings. Churches are something completely different. They exist solely for worship. If your religion dictates as such, this would be a very serious conflict of interest, and it is why we have seperation.
