POLL: Which Are Worse, Movies Based On Videogames Or Staring Pro Wrestlers?

Well, the subject pretty much says it all. These are movies, not television shows. That Legend of Zelda cartoon back in the day rocked!

However, I'm going to go with videogames. The Wizzard does not fall under this category, since it was a movie about video games, not based off of one. The reason for my choice?

Street Fighter: The Movie

Why wrestling didn't get it?

Lol, both are very bad, but i agree that movies based on Video games are probably worse, yet i would love to see a Film of "Abes Odyssey"!
The reason i don't say films with pro wrestlers is because as of late, some have been quite successful. I hear the Rocks films do quite well, and HHH was in a Blade film and supposedly that did ok too. Yet, if some Video Game films were not too bad, Hulk Hogans "Mr. Nanny" could have swung it the other way!

Yeah, true. I have not seen any of the recent films with wrestlers and do not wish to either, lol, i guess that shows the expectations i have for them!
I prefer to watch them do their acting in the ring.

I'm sorry guys but They Live is one of John Carpenter's best works. There was a movie with Hulk Hogan that sucked royally. Hulk Hogan makes Carrot Top look like Russell Crowe.

That's what I meant, They Live was wrestling's one redeeming quality. Great line (bubblegum), awesome fight scene, and such a bizzare premise that it had to be good!...Although this says otherwise. Check out the link to The Filmmaker's Exam, it's hilarious!

I agree 100%, THEY LIVE is classic John Carpenter and certainly one of his best films. Rowdy Roddy Piper was awesome, but where is he now?!?!

Movies adapted from video-games generally suck. I can't think of a decent conversion at all :bnghd:

Two words: Resident Evil

It was good.

Based on video-games because they sometimes follow the game and if yopu have completed it you know how the movie will end.


Some of Hulk Hogans movies I have enjoyed, but some can be pathetic!

Yeah, I'm voting "videogames".

C'mon. They're good for freeviews when you've literally got nothing better to do than have sixteen root canals without anaesthetic...but that's about it.

you can't knock all movies with pro wrestlers, just the ones with Hulk Hogan...The flicks with The Rock were pretty good...

And talkin' about Roddy Piper, has anyone ever seen one called "Hell comes to Frogtown"? Absoulutly awful film, but funny as hell..

Yeah, their both terrible. when I first clicked on the link i was gonna go with wrestlers for sure; but after reading the first post with Mario Bros & Mortal Kombat, I have to go with video games.

Their has been more better movies with wrestlers then there was video games. Not many but IMO they take the win on this one

I was a kid when I seen Mortal Kombat, and the friggin movie blew me away. I spent hours jumping around punching and kicking stuff after I seen it. lol.

Everytime I see a movie advertised on tv staring a wrestler, I know that I won't be seeing it.

For example: I wanted to see Doom until I seen The Rock in the preview.

GOD, just stay in the ring where you belong ya damn muscle head(s).

While both are usually bad...the win has to go to video-game-based ones here....

Street Fighter, Super Mario Brothers...OMG, did they suck!
Mortal Combat had cool music at least, but otherwise forgettable....
Tomb Raider had Angelina Jolie...but again, that was it....

I personally kind of liked Mummy II, and even the cheesy Scorpion King, and yes, the campy They Live also... Plus, Roddy's been in some pretty decent B-porn with some hot babes...,

Of course, the sheer glut of bad Hogan movies almost cancel it all out....

But, I'm assuming you're referring to Doom which has BOTH elements... Truly, the title is prophetic....and Doom was the first game I was really addicted to, so that's saying something..... I even had Doom wads and editor programs, lol!!!

on a side note... i'd love to see a final fantasy movie based off of the story of FFIII... with the espers and and the world being ripped asunder....

i really think it would be awesome... or a Legend Of Zelda movie.... as long as that harry potter kid isnt cast as link.. that would make me very very angry..
