This sounds like a repeat of the 1990 invasion of Kuwait.
Iraq is accusing Kuwait of stealing Iraqi oil through slant-drilling.
That is exactly what Saddam Hussein accused Kuwait of in 1990.

"There have been violations such as digging horizontal oil wells to pump
Iraq oil," legislator Jawad al-Maliki, chairman of the parliament's Security and Defense Committee, told the National Assembly on Tuesday.

In such horizontal wells, instead of drilling straight down, Kuwaitis would drill at an angle either going into subterranean Iraqi territory or sucking oil out of pools from Iraqi territory. He also said Kuwaitis have taken territories up to half a mile inside Iraq.

I think the Iraqi government has bigger problems to worry about. The Iraqi government ought to have its mind on defeating the insurgency rather then mindless speculation. As for the border sercuity issue the allied powers could have sercured the borders, but the Bush admin has shown anything but compentcy.

*throws hands up*

There goes the neighborhood!

xpert is right, though. This should not be the focus of the Iraqis. Good to note, maybe send a letter, or ask the Kuwaitis to allow a few inspectors (maybe even Americans) but forget about it. They've got much bigger fish to fry.
