I heard you guys are actually pumped with caffeine through an IV is it true?!?!

[edit on 29-7-2005 by Ocelot]

Well, there are a couple mods who are health-fiends who refuse the oral options such as coffee, Jolt or various assortments of pep pills that are kept at the terminal areas in candy dishes, so they leave Skeptic no other option than to plunge a needle into their arms and begin the IV drip.

Wow
You Mods are real Machines!!!!

I once read that Mods can stay awake for 96 hours...STRAIGHT!!!!!
120 for Super Mods!!!!

They can stay awake longer, but they won't be as alert as they should be.

What is the dif between MOD and Super MOD?

That's easy...Supermods have capes...and silly spandex outfits....

Regular mods just wear the standard MIB attire.

I have a visual of what I think an ATS mods Inbox looks like.

Kind of how my inbox is at work.

Thank god, I thought for sure I was the only one who thought that they looked silly, even if they can fly. How ever, the new nomex under armor is an improvement.

As uncomfortable as it is (the magneto, ceramic anti-kinetic plates chafe some ok), can you blame us? "Spandex" or custom suit from Italia, honestly.

I've derived a simple calculation that will help us determine how much the mods are doing.

We take their total wages, divide by their hourly wage, and get the number of ours they spent...

Dang, error. Can't divide by zero.

Let's just say they do more than most people would.

Nothing. From my experience they spread disinformation regarding Viagra; 5 bottles, and I'm still not able to reach the hights of Everest.

Well, the council is elected from the members, for the members. We don't necessarily side with the Mods always... so, here comes disclosure. I'm going to tell you all what REALLY goes on behind closed doors.

Before retiring, Seekerof spent most of his time engaged in an Itchy and Scatchy like game of "cat and mouse" with RANT. (Itchy and Scratchy being an ultra-violent parody of Tom and Jerry which appears on The Simpsons)

Thomas Crowne really does dress like Judge Dredd and really does carry a Law Giver II, and he has been responsible for every single violent death of a liberal since 1973.

FredT is actually a glitch in ATSNN that does virtually nothing but read other news sites and generate ATSNN reports. It is commonly believed that the glitch has become sentient and believes that if it ever reaches 1,000,000,000,000 points it can go to heaven.
The supposed "server change" and associated downtime was actually Skeptic Overlord's attempt to locate and destroy him.

Djarums really is a pack of Djarums.

And Byrd's account is actually shared by the 500 most prominent archaeologists in the world.

I'll tell you more when I've been around a little longer. I haven't actually seen all of the moderators in action yet.

Please don't ban me guys. Pretty Please.

Gaz - I've got around 2400 u2us, and that's after having deleted the first 200 or so I ever had. Don't even start with me.

The surprising thing is that you'd actually be hard pressed to disprove a lot of the things The Vagabond just said.

And, last I checked, division by 0 gave you infinity.

I wouldn't know. i don't actually do math. I have a calculator. It just says "error".

And Amory- how friggin long have you been a mod, like 2 hours? how many U2Us do you get every day!? I always sort of assumed that it took at least a little while for a mods box to get that bad. Ouch.

I don't think members realise the hard work we do sprinkling incitive threads through the board to keep members on their feet, and stop us all either falling to sleep or taking some of more "chalanged" members seriously.

After seeing the complaint forum, I don't even want to know what you guys have to contend with in the Mod forum. Hats off to you guys. I still have admin powers at a site which has only 4 active members and only 1 troll, and even that gets under my skin at times!
(in case you're wondering, it used to be a thriving little community. Something changed in the google results- it's no longer a top return for "anarchy", and the inflow of new members rapidly ceased.)

Work?

Are you kidding?

I enjoy my time online here, both as a mod and a member. Though it can be a bit tough, and confusing at times.. and on a very rare moment it is kinda frustrating. It can be quite rewarding.

To me being a mod, is really just like being a member, with a bit more stuff to do.

This is an amazing community here, if it was not so interesting I would not be a mod, in fact I would not be a member.

It is a desire to help, to work with administration, and all staff, with a goal of making this a better place for ALL here.

It can be rewarding, and also hard to explain!

Work?

That is my day job..

I am here at ATS because I really do enjoy being here!

Just kidding. We actually agree on most issues, but I've got to razz him a bit because sometimes he's left, and I'm ALWAYS RIGHT.

Im about as Irish as light beer. Distantly related, even still have the surname to prove it, but not entirely Irish I'm afraid. Not my fault that my ancestors defiled themselves with lesser mortals though.
