Yes thats right America is not a democracy! Its a REPUBLIC.

Why am I posting this in the board buissness forum? Because I am tired of people saying "America is a democarcy" or "The end of a democracy"

America is a republic. It has an adminstrative head that makes the final call on what the public votes for.

In an honest democracy the people have total power. If majority of people in an area voted to raise minimum wage it would be raised. Thats democracy

America is a Republic. Recite the pledge." I pledge.....
.... And to the REPUBLIC for which it stands...."

dont believe me this site says more....

Please remember We are a republic not a democracy here in america

Deny Ignorance.

It's a representative democracy by definition.

"Democracy is the worst form of government - it's just better than all the other ones out there."

It doesn't work. A true democracy would be a horrifying morass of paper at our size.

America is neither a democracy or a republic. It's a corporate oligarchy.

All the conventions are just dog and pony shows to foster the illusion that the citizens of this country matter and have an influence on the powers that be.

It's a brave new world; welcome to the monkey house!

Bush's agenda from day one was to be the most "Golden Child" the rich had ever seen. His aim has been to steal from every average worker alive today and all future generations so there would be no more middle class just the rich and the poor servitude class.

His judicial appointments during his reign as Texas gov. were not conservative nor liberal, but pro big business.

Every action since becoming president has been pro big business and the rich.

Wake up!
