That was bizarre. I can't say I found that relaxing, sounded kind of creepy to me.

This is a link to the NASA site, for the Cassini mission. There is a link there, or here, for a quick time file that is very intriguing!

Sounds like the background ambient sounds from Doom III. I'm scared

Freaks for 50's sci fi movies (like me) recall fondly the use of the Theremin in the soundtracks. Here's a good link-
The Theremin
Includes some audio files (for the audiophiles)

ok now i was under the impression that sounds cant exist in space....something about how it's a vacume so there's no way the sound waves can carry or something like that....i do remember that though from highschool, but it has been awhile so i'm alittle vague on the details....but that was always my impression.

umwolves123, the sounds are given off in radio frequency and recorded the same way. So no, there is no sound in space.

a majority of the thread is saying this.

Really I am wondering if people even bother to read a freaking thread anymore.

If you want to hear some other neat sounds from space (such as neutron stars, black holes, Sputnik, etc...) try Space Sounds.

It's fasinating! Really creepy yes but very cool still! Thanks for pointing it out! Think I am going to look up more stuff on sounds from beyond Earth!

Very creepy indeed. I never heard these sounds before so thanks for posting it. It really DOES sound like something off a halloween soundtrack.
