I sure this thing has been mention more than once on ats. I know I have mentioned it a couple of times as well. It´s not a comet, it´s an asteroid. April 13 2029 is on a friday too...

Asteroid 2004 MN4

Just more stuff to keep people scared. Remember the asteroid in September, 65% chance of a solid hit. I highly doubt that we will get hit by this thing. The possibilty is there but it's a 1 in 60 chance.

The linked article provided by AKAELI mentions:

The flyby distance is uncertain and an Earth impact cannot yet be ruled out. The odds of impact, presently around 1 in 300, are unusual enough to merit special monitoring by astronomers, but should not be of public concern.

So, someone, please explain how what is mentioned above implies "good odds to hit us"?

I would prefer NASA's attitude and simply say that 'probability' will change from day-to-day...

Current impact risk is a 1 in 6,250 chance based on results computed on Jul 7th 2005. Its close, but definatly not the 1 in 32 you think

This topic needs to be renamed: April13 2029 Comet With Bad Odds To Hit Us. Apparently with those odds I don't feel the bit scared.
