If you HAD to wear a pair, which would it be? Me? I'd choose the 7th pair.

Well.......um.....Those are quite hideous....

Looks like a slightly more ethical throw-back to Lotus shoes....The physically forced appearance of tiny feet was a turn on for the upper society of China for centuries....

The shoes...

The effects on the feet:

I was totally unaware of this phenomenon until I was browsing the shelves of Barnes & Noble and stumbled upon this fantastic book:
Splendid Slippers: A Thousand Years of an Erotic Tradition

hehe got to say i do like the 3rd pair! but my toes just hurt even looking at them, i cant imagin the state of my feet and the pain i would be in on after a night out in them, though i also do ballet and pointee so maybe my feet would be more molded for them.

OMG!! that foot is awful! i don't understand people who suffer to look a certain way because of a tradition or style. we have only one body and shouldn't take it for granted!

well, those shoes are really unusual
LOL wouldn't wear any of them, maybe only for halloween
with #8 i could be a horse! yay!

can't se any pictures about the shoes (at last i asume we are discussing shoes
) but i can see the foot looks like something from foot binding.

What about plastic surgery, face lifts, breast augmentation and piercing to name a few modern western body modifications to make one more appealing to the opposite sex? While foot binding is foreign to me and less than attractive IMO I can’t judge another people on their own traditions however strange they may seem.

Maybe you were including the things I mentioned in your statement but I thought a lot of people would overlook the fact that western people do many similar things to their bodies for many of the same reasons.
