well, now that I've gotten a good connection. I want to take advantage of having 2 puters available.
quite handy when one is updating or working etc.

anyways...

trying to finally setup my router [ been collecting dust ]

befw11s4/wired/wireless/b

going for the wired connect 1st, [ laptop 1 , is a builtin wireless/g...just gonna use it wired for now tho

then to add on a wireless for 2nd laptop, it has a wireless b card

then add a wireless adapter for my printer [ ok yeah right ]

I went thru the steps

make sure I got a good connect 1st , check

then plug into WAN then use 4 on the router to the laptop , check

hold the reset button on router for 30 seconds , check

get the physical addy from ipconfig, check

type physical addy into mac addr clone , check

clik apply, check

shut down pc , check

unplug router/modem...wait 30 seconds , check-check

power up modem , check

power up router, check

start computer , check

try surfing...nothing , can't find server . wtf ?

well , if I can get the bloody thing to recognize 1 puter , that'll b better than nothing

did I miss a step ?

I went to the linksys site and looked up what I thought was related , even tried the " easy set-up " [ my eye easy...it didn't recognize my router ! ]

hmm.

could be a couple of things..
is your gateway ip correct on the non working puter?

ipconfig /all (if you weren't sure)

space,

naw , didn't even attempt to get the 2nd one [ wireless ] to connect

I figgerd I'd connect one , do any updates to firmware , then add the wireless puter , then add the wireless adapter for my printer.

my ignorance of never having done this is driving my desire to just add one item at a time

is this a mistake ?
