Starchaser To Unveil UK's Most Powerful Rocket Engine

Starchaser Industries unveiled their new Churchill Mk3 liquid rocket engine Wednesday

The Starchaser space programme demonstrates that British space engineering is still at the forefront of innovation.

"We plan to open the frontier of space using British engineering and design expertise," said Steve Bennett CEO of Starchaser Industries who is also Director of the Space Technology Laboratory at Salford University.

I think this is great news for the UK, what do you guys think about this?

Quite much talk considering "British engineering and design expertise" hasn't been "used" much on else than paper and considering what fleet ballistic missile they use.

Is only the most powerful engine developed in the last 30 years. The engines from the UK space programme were bigger. the RZ2 rocket engine for blue streak was rated upto 150000lb (667.2KN)

The main lifter for the French space program (the arian rockets i think)is basically Blue streak with a french sticker on the side. Blue streak never actually flew for the british. It was built at our lauch site in austrailia after the cold war when the race was on with rocketry. But sadly the british goverment pulled the plug on blue streak project and it never flew.

Oh another entrant to the X-Prize cup ic. For those who don't know what that is, it's a competition that will have it's innagural event in late 2006 in New Mexic. With or without the long overdue spaceport it's coming.
