I just found out that my Grandmother has a half brother who works for Skunk Works at Groom Lake NV!!!!!! I'm going out there for a few days in June to visit Area 51 and I'm going to meet him there and ask him some questions. My granda said he doesn't talk about his job much at all because he said it's classified TOP SECRET. Should be interesting. I was like "Damn, and you never told me this before now!?!?"

Well that's pretty neat. I'm guessing he won't be able to answer any questions of what's all there and what not, but with all the rumours and speculation of what all goes on there. Maybe he could at least say which things are not true. Know what I mean? Would be neat to find out a little bit more about the place.

The old guy was probably concerned that you would post about it on the Internet.

Hey, while you're out there, would you say "hi" to Xholtar for me? He's the reptilian with the eye patch.

Oh, and remind him he still owes me 20 lebnars for betting that the Bush family was of terrestrial origin.

Silly reptoids never learn...

That's funny. I thought Lockheed's Skunk Works was in Palmdale.

No, that would be the "Mink Works".

Meanwhile, the "Weasel Works" is in Utah, the "Chinchilla Works" is at Wright-Patterson, the "Ferret Works" is at Lakenheath (England), while the "Wallaby Works" is at Nurrungar (Australia).

The confusion is understandable, though, all things considered.

Although they have used the Groom lake base to test some of their secret aircraft prototypes, Lockheed Martin's "Skunk Works" is located at a military aerospace facility in Palmdale, CA which is known as Plant 42

Roadscholar is correct.

Although it would not surprise me if the operations extend beyond just PalmDale. I'm a Lockheed employee who just came from a conference where all the PalmDale employees were showing off their new Skunk Works Laniards.

Palmdale is part of LM Aeronautics. They also have divisions in Ft Worth Texas and Marietta Georgia among others.

I have seen the Skunk Works label tied to the Groom Lake stories but don't remember the association.

Yes you were!!!

You're actually the smarter one here. I would never have looked that up if I had not read your post.

When I saw that, I decided to google it (even though we have been warned today of their intent upon global domination) = low and behold, together we denied some ignorance!

No need to put up no dukes, let's team up to fight crime or somesuch

Now, now, there's a simple enough way to settle this once and for all.

You're both smarter than each other.

You should each be proud that you are intelligent enough to be smarter than someone who is actually smarter than you are.

Now give each other a hug... [*hug*]

There we go! Doesn't it feel better to get that out of the way?

Now, don't you two have chores to do?

Run along now...

I believe the connection with Skunk Works and Area 51 has to do with the testing of the A-12/YF-12/SR-71 and the F-117 there.

No. Skunk works (Lockheed Martin) is not located at A51.

DeltaChaos--

You're supposed to be an Army recruiter. How can one be blamed for refusing to trust you when it comes to subjects bearing on so-called "nat'l. security"? There are two possibilities: that you are misleading us deliberately, or that you are doing it unawares. If you know the truth, you will lie to us because you have been sworn to secrecy, and if your "need to know" is low-level, then you will have been given no high-clearance information, and your opinions will be just as inadequate as ours. Since recruiting would seem to be a relatively straightforward task, your "need to know" is probably nonexistent. Anyway, nobody can be sure who you really are. You could be an alien. What we need here is a remote viewer, if there is such a thing. "gl2" claims to be one but so far he has said nothing about these bases.

On second thought, you couldn't possibly be an alien. Otherwise you would not allow Mme. DeltaChaos, the Goddess, to be led astray by false prophets. She follows blindly the teachings of the aliens calling themselves the Hosts of Heaven (Operation Terra), I've tried to warn her about this but she refuses to listen. So will you please tell her to read the following message, posted by Dr. M. Salla, the ufologist, at the forum of his Yahoo group "prepare4contact"? The matter would be irrelevant if it were not for the fact that it contributes to establish the identity of someone who would have us believe that Area 51 is no more.

The acceleration spoken of has been going on for at least the last week or two, but now it has really become quite noticeable. I have been personally following my "inner director" and paring back on possessions and eliminating any clutter in my life. I still have around 2 dozen LGLG T-shirts I want to find homes for, so I have reduced the price by $4.00 each. Now is the time to get one if you have been thinking of doing so and need a particular size.

It's a Technical Distinction! In the mid-60's, the US Government officialy dropped the use of the term "Area 51". Strictly from a Termenology standpoint Area 51 doesn't exist. The Top Secret base at Groom Lake is known as Dreamland, or simply Groom Lake today.

Think of it This Way: When Russia was socialist/communist, it was called Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). At the end of the 1980's, when the communist system in Russia came to an end, the country changed its name to Russia. So the USSR/ Soviet Union no longer exists, but the land, the people, and the culture are still there. The Same is true of Groom Lake, the name has changed, so Area 51 no longer exists, but Groom Lake is still where it always was, and as you pointed out, busier than ever!

20 lebnars says his, uh, step-granduncle sticks to his clearance and doesn't even admit that he works there.

Thanks Tim,

Area 51 was a designation used by the old Atomic Energy Agency. The TERM Area 51 ceased to exist when the Atomic Energy Agency's operations were swallowed by the newly formed Department of Energy.

Is Groom Lake still there? Yes. Does Area 51 exist? NO!

And I just quit my job as a recruiter. It sucked. Any more questions?
