Chris Licht, the embattled chief executive and chairman of CNN, whose brief one-year tenure at the network was stained by a series of severe missteps, will depart the company.

“I met with Chris and he will be leaving CNN,” David Zaslav, the chief executive of parent company Warner Bros. Discovery, told CNN employees at the start of the network’s daily editorial call Wednesday.

Licht’s departure, which came days after a devastating 15,000-word profile in The Atlantic, capped a tumultuous year for CNN, marked by layoffs, historically low ratings, and rock-bottom employee morale.

Well that was fast.

In his bid to corner the market on Trump-supporters that are fleeing Fox News, Licht managed to alienate the network's existing audience. On top of that, his relationship with the network's employees was apparently strained, with many questioning his decisions.

Warner Discovery has begun a search, both internally and eventually, for Licht's replacement. Until such a replacement is found, Licht's responsibilities will be taken over by a small team of executives.

They were hemorrhaging viewers long before they started courting Fox viewers. I know of several who tuned out because of the constant overdramatic covid coverage, including my wife. She was always anxious and on edge since covid came. I blocked CNN and MSNBC in late 2020 and her anxiety was gone just like that.

It is ALWAYS heart-warming to see CNN drop another notch. For the past 6 years, CNN has attempted to do what CHINA and RUSSIA and NORTH KOREA would love to do to America. Thankfully, CNN continues to FAIL in its attempts to destroy our great nation and culture.

The embattled, confused, and doomed far-left CNN is about to lose another CEO. According to numerous reports, after just a little over a year at the dying network, Chris Licht is out, he’s toast… Chris Licht is moving to Donesville.

The walls really started closing in (if you’ll pardon the expression) on Licht after former President Trump’s CNN town hall triumph last month.

Because Trump was allowed to state his beliefs and come off as charming and in command, the Woke Nazis in the media, including at CNNLOL, freaked out. Licht tried to trip Trump up. Of course, he did. He’s a leftist.

His mistake was having a lightweight like Kaitlan “Nurse Ratched” Collins moderate. She tried her worst, Trump did his best, and the Woke Gestapo never forgives.

The lady (former) CNN CEO Licht viewed as a RISING STAR after her "masterful performance" hosting the candidate Donald Trump town hall last month, now has her own PRIME TIME show on CNN.

Kaitlan Collins' CNN Debut Tanks in Ratings: 'The Source' Lost to Repeats of 'Golden Girls', 'South Park', 'Seinfeld' and 'Friends'

Collins got her primetime start a few weeks ago, having hosted the 9 PM hour since June 5 after being promoted by former network head Chris Licht following her "masterful performance" while moderating a town hall with former president Donald Trump.

"Her new program, officially launching later this summer, Kaitlan will showcase why she's one of the top reporters and interviewers in the game," Licht said in a memo.

"She is a smart and gifted journalist who we’ve all seen hold lawmakers and newsmakers accountable," he raved. "She pushes politicians off their talking points, gets real answers — and as everyone who's worked with her knows — breaks a lot of news."

CNN has taken millions of Americans on Sucker Rides for too many years. They are as tarnished as a news network can get. Were it not for AT&T subsidizing their operations, CNN would be as extinct as Buzz Feed.
