An extended charm offensive by senior diplomats from major European nations and institutions has sought to win over neutrally-minded Latin American nations to their cause as part of the broader geopolitical battle with Russia and China.

It likely depends on pressures or incentives western nations give latin american countries to impose sanctions.

Hopefully, Russia comes to its senses and figuares out a way to end the war. Maybe agreeing to certain terms and conditions for removal of NATO? However, I think after all the bloodshed, it may be that both sides want an all or nothing solution.

How do you think this war will end?

Latin Americans are far from Europe. Whatever happens in Europe is no concern to them.

Most of Latin America voted at the UN against Russian actions in Ukraine. They don't support Russia's belligerence, or in the case of abstentions have kept a quiet neutrality.

Most of Latin America does little trade with Russia, and vise versa. Any trade improvements are based around countries buying cheap Russian stuff because Russia have lost profitable customers e.g. oil, but are also built on trade dependencies e.g. fertilizers.

These small changes in trade and lack of direct sanctions from some countries will not save Russia's economy, which is in a dire state. The loss of markets in the developed world is what's ruining Russia.

Perhaps, like the Nazi's of old, Putin and his henchmen will all end up living the dream in Argentina? Sieg Heil!

Most of LATAM is already on board and belongs to the US sphere of influence. Everything they do is determined and allowed by the US. The US - though it pretends to - doesn't need LATAM to impose sanctions. The US is happy for LATAM to have cheap discounted Russian diesel and coal. More profits for US outsourced LATAM based factories. Also the US wants Russia to wet its beak a little; as they want a very long and drawn out war - just like the Soviet War in Afghanistan again.
