THANKS RON !!!

According to CNBC and The New York Times, a top Disney official sent a memo to employees Thursday explaining the campus will no longer be constructed and none of its employees in Southern California will relocate to Florida. It was expected to bring more than 2,000 jobs in digital technology, finance and product development.

“Since we first announced this project, several dynamics have changed, including a change in company leadership and evolving economic and business conditions,” Vahle said in a statement.

I do not like what Disney has been promoting.

This is where Ron is loosing people.

The liberals wrote this up as a hit piece..

I do not like Desantis stabbing Trump in the back running against
him creating this huge divide at a time we need unity..

Ron can go to hell with the rest of the RHINOS..

One more thing to add to his lists of #s up we can use
to destroy him against Trump..

I do not like Disney but this really isn't 'loosing' any jobs like they are saying
they just are not moving. So its sensationalized.

That is their big headline..

Desantis has lost all trust with me now since he joined the RHINO never Trump mob.

The link to the main NYT article and CNBC article.
(i do not linking them can't read the crap anyways)
CNBC RON DESANTIS HIT PIECE
NYT RON DESANTIS DISNEY NOT MOVING JOBS

From the internal memo, it sounds like it's leadership and economics that nixed this build, not politics. Not sure your hate for Desantis is justified.

I do like this line though: "none of its employees in Southern California will relocate to Florida". So the news isn't all bad.

You can't pin all this on Ron. Disney lost 3.6 million subscribers to it's streaming service and has been laying off employees. The theme parks are making money, but some of their films bombed and that's a hit to the wallet.

I am not pinning anything on anyone.

They did, I am just reporting this #.

My opinion on Desantis has soured since
he is stabbing Trump in the back, can not trust
someone with a character like that now.

It definitely is his fault though all those extra billions in revenue
are going to be lost and the people are going to suffer so
he can grandstand and show how big his thing is.

Hmmm, who cares about hypothetical jobs…I mean, sure that will bring a few teary eyes to all those Haitian, El Salvadorian, and Cuban MegaTech Virtual Digitized Computer Animation designers, engineers, and other related workers, all those hundreds of thousands of 18-35 year old strapping single Chinese men showing too suddenly I BET were all coming to try out for cast member positions at the parks…Gaston, Eric, Phillip, and all…they will be devastated…

I’m gonna be honest though…I’m just selfish regarding this kind of news and only care that it works as devastatingly as possible to their financial state so we can see the end of this really cringe-level era of each production company, channel, studio, and boom mic operator thinking that they all warrant their own separate subscription based services just to throw together some really worthless and uninteresting catalogues of material where they had to include 29 years of the Young and the Restless, then the same with 29 years of directors commentary, then 29.01 years with the Young and the Restless uncut collection which includes every 2.5 extra seconds after cut is yelled to when they stop filming so it’s like a whole new show….I mean…it just looks so pathetic and desperate that I just wanna cover my eyes and shake my head…(yea I’m looking your way peacock…ABC streaming…Showtime Anytime….Paramount….don’t even TRY it VIACOM, DiC, or TVGuide Channel Production Inc.!!! And Disney, your collection of available streaming is no more than enough to entertain my 7 year old niece for an hour or two IF she gives if a good year or two between watches so you can find more crap to stuff into your app and try to feel like you really outgrew Netflix…pffft…should have left good enough alone)

I'm confused. First you say you're not pinning anything on anyone - I presumed you meant Desantis. Then you say it's his fault for not getting the extra billions in revenue which I assume is the DIsney decision to not expand but that's clearly not due to politics.

When it comes to running for office, the gloves usually come off quickly and everything is fare game. Besides, I've noticed Trump has been trash-talking Desantis for quite some time already. It may get down to Desantis vs Trump for the nomination but I hope we get one or two more good candidates to listen to.

Relax.

It's not as if Disney is moving the build elsewhere.
It is being cancelled because prior to the annoucement, they were already firing thousands because of their business downturn following epic woke movie fail after epic woke movie fail.

Eh, it could just as easily be Disney losing market share. So much of what they've done lately has been garbage and people are upset.

I'm sure the Florida thing is part of it, but I'll bet it's not all of it, just the preferred narrative to focus one because, you know, we all LOVE woke.

FYI. Many of the lost subscribers were due to the loss of Cricket coverage in India.

An 8% drop in subscribers in Disney+’s Indian segment accounted for most of the losses, though the service also lost 300,000 American users.

From this news, it looks like DeSantis is doing a very good job creating jobs and keeping the jobless rate down.

Disney is creatively bankrupt.

All they are right now is Marvel, and that's running dry. Star Wars, and Kennedy killed that. And a slew of remakes where all they can do is live action and diversity inspired casting swaps.

They need to branch out and do some fresh stuff. If they want diverse projects, they have all the folklore of African, India, and Latin America they *could* explore. Those are new stories to most audiences. Write good characters and solid stories, and they'd do well.

If you have never worked at a theme park or for their companies Ill toss out my anecdotal experience working for a competitor.

They hire a ton of people and pay peanuts and the bare minimum they can get away with for benefits, if they have say 1000 employees 10-20 are actually good paying jobs with excellent benefits that they will constantly talk about to try and entice people to ride it out.

The catch those 10-20 people never retire they work till they die, so if you dont get employed at the right time and know the right people you have zero shot at the "good" jobs.

that leads to people wasting their life at a job they hate in hopes of getting a job they still hate that pays better, after a certain point they know they wont get those jobs and yet after so many years its hard to risk something new.

honestly they are better without it, they have better options but everyone is so brainwashed on how awesome disney is it seems like a good idea...

it seems to me that if they were going to build it, they would have broken ground a long time ago like maybe a years and a half. they would have had plans already drawn up and ready to go, i mean they only announced it 2 years ago way before The Parental Rights in Education Act was even brought before and it died in committee the first time.

not only that many Disney's employees didn't want it to happen,

Many Disney employees balked at the company’s relocation plans when they were first announced in July 2021 by former CEO Bob Chapek. While some left the company, or transitioned to other posts within Disney that would not require a move to Florida, others held out hope that the plan would fizzle out after a postponement. The campus was originally slated to open in 2022-2023, but was later delayed to 2026.
Disney scraps plans for new Florida campus, mass employee relocation amid DeSantis feud

i'm thinking lots of their employees were still bitchin about it and were refusing to sign up. thank god, last thing we need in fl is more california woketards moving in. Disney is just trying to use Desantis as a scapegoat.

Disney (DIS) will lay off thousands of more workers this week as it looks to slash 7,000 jobs by the summer.

This week marks the second round of job cuts following a first round that began the week of March 27. Disney officials said Monday that at the completion of this second wave, 4,000 jobs will be eliminated.

The eliminations will occur across the company’s business segments, including Disney Entertainment, ESPN, and Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. They will also happen across the country, from Burbank to New York and Connecticut.

Does not take away the fact he can not be trusted.

2,000 supposed potential jobs vs corporatocracy?

I know which I would pick if the choice where mine to make.

I don't align well with DeSantis' culture war; but I do agree with him on fighting corporatocracy.
