Chicago Popeyes Worker Allegedly Destroys Eatery in Dispute over Pay

A Popeyes worker had a dispute over paychecks that he didn't get and couldn't get cash either so he decided he's completely HAD IT !!! 😁

Proceeds to bust things up in the restaurant and blow off steam.

Management says he put the wrong info on the direct deposit form 😁

Happened in a far North side Chicago location.

An upset fast food worker in Chicago apparently went on a rampage through the eatery after allegedly not receiving his paycheck.

The recent incident happened inside a Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen when the man was angry for reportedly not getting paid for a month, according to a New York Post article published Thursday.

In video footage of the incident, a man wearing a red hoodie is seen holding a bag of what appears to be raw chicken, which he dumps on the floor:

If a person puts the wrong info on a direct deposit form...how is that the fault of the employer?

So, is this now going to become the new normal, if you mess up and don't get paid, you destroy the business you work for?

I guess a company as big as Popeye's doesn't have a pay card that is used instead of checks either.

i would have been gone, well i should say after two weeks. back while young, young, i did construction work before and after the Corps. worked for a couple of companies, one liked to play games with the pay checks, one was always half ass broke. id gave them a week and moved on.

the one that played games i got even with though. we were working for the U.S. government / Corps of Enginers building a lab on a base. they said that helpers could only fetch and carry, anybody that used tools had to be a framers. they had 30 of us on the job site and telling them we were all framers when half of us were helpers when they didn't pay us for the second week the day i left i found the head Corps inspector and told him about it. the owners were not happy.

if they hadn't jacked us around on payday a couple of times before i wouldn't have said anything. but you can't keep doing that to your people if you want to keep them.
if you keep working for someone who doesn't pay you at the agreed time, your damn fool to keep working for nothing any longer that. i can understand problems and giving them a chance. but there comes a time to when you got to look out for number one, especially when living hand to mouth.

It's a deranged society Rick. Be grateful you live in the UP and don't have these selfish; self centered, entitled types of individuals in your community. I live not far from you in Saginaw, it's happening here slowly, but not like in other cities yet.

If he did that to our Popeyes that would be a massive improvement.

I love Popeyes chicken, I love their rice and beans and their potatoes and gravy. I only get to eat it once a year or so when traveling.

Our Popeyes is horrible and I refuse to eat there. I’m pretty sure it’s just a money laundering front.

The reason Chick-fil-A does so well is that everyone loves friend chicken. Now if there was a place like Chick-fil-A that actually sold real fried chicken on the bone, they would make a fortune. I’m not talking about Kentucky Fried or Popeyes. Both of those places are just horrible here in Wisconsin. I’m not saying people should eat a lot of friend chicken but every now and then every red blooded person can have a hankering for some authentic good fried food.

There is a place called Lees chicken in Florida. It is in the worst neighborhood where you are risking your life, but the chicken is 100000% worth it. They sell a gallon of real sweet tea with it too. I miss that place so much!

i use to like their biscuits, now that i saw that video with with them frozen things laying all over the place. guess what?
i also liked their red beans and rice, now i expect to see the red beans comes from a can. although there is one canned red beans that i tried that are pretty good, the name brand is Blue Runner. saw them in walmart one day and damn if they weren't fairly decent for a can.

Two problems.

1.) Incorrect or missing direct deposit info. the employee is responsible for this.

2.) employer should cut a paper check or pay out of petty cash with no taxes withheld but pay reported normally but also following up to get correct info and then documenting that the employee would need a checking account and that all pay going forward is for direct deposit only.

I don’t believe it. Popeyes only hires the best. The staff and their service are always impeccable. No matter where in the world you are you will never have a ghetto experience at a Popeyes.
