Do you consider the phrase "White Male Privilege" to be Harassment?

My name is Kelly. I'm a White Male. I grew up outside a little town filled with White People. Yes, I was given a hard time about my name.

I recently figured out that there is no such thing as White Privilege in a town of only White People. It doesn't exist there.

The People who have been crappy to me the most in life are White Trash.

So whoever says that I've had White Privilege my whole life is lying out their backside.

So at what point should I consider being told I have "White Male Privilege" to be a form of Harassment?

Every time?

And what should we do about People pretending that we have it?

No one has ever told me that I have "white privilege."

I wear the title like a badge of honor. Their end goal is to make you feel miserable and shameful to be a white male. It's because they feel that way. When you proudly accept it, it pisses them off.

I’ve had some young women try to explain to me white male privilege. One is one of my really good friends fiancé. She’s an environmental lawyer, so you can guess how far she leans that way.

I calmly explained to some degree maybe she’s right, but what she’s missing is the disadvantages too.

The conversation started because she said that mostly men voted on the recent abortion laws. She had a point, that’s probably rough. She was likening it to the government controlling her body. As a libertarian, I can at least appreciate that thought.

So I explained to her selective service, and how I could essentially become government property if things go bad enough, recent years showing it’s at least a small possibility for some young men.

It took her a while to at least hear me out, but that was because I didn’t get offended and I had a conversation.

It doesn’t offend me if people have opinion, even if they’re wrong or abrasive about it. There’s a lot bigger problems we all have than what my genetics turned out to be lol.

Many times somebody saying you have "White Privilege" is usually using the phrase as an intimidation technique and red herring, and even an excuse for their own failure 😎

Either all of free speech represents gradients of harassment or none of it does.

no not really, but i do find offense in that, i've never been offered any of it. i've had to bust my a@@ for everything i got.

It is a secret thing so I guess I shouldn't have mentioned it.

White privilege can roughly be defined as one experiencing or receiving privilege simply because they consider themselves or another considers them "white." Whether it happens knowingly or not determines whether it can be used against someone. I'd expect the accuser to offer concrete evidence of their claims, and if they don't, be rightfully ignored.

Mines for sale if you want to double your white privilege.
Though it hasn't worked for me but may be it will for you.

I can not understate how hard I would laugh at any such statement directed toward me. I doubt I would be able to muster an answer and just walk in laughing.

“I don’t like mainstream republicans” doesn’t make someone liberal. That’s for people who believe there are two boxes and everyone has to fit in one or the other, which is the furthest thing from Liberty I can think of.

What else is it?

I'm on the west coast and the city I live in was a sunset town up until the 60s and 70s. Black people, hispanics and the asians that built the town weren't allowed to buy any land or site-built homes. They were only allowed tent cities across the railroad tracks. Some parts of the city are still mostly white because only white people were ALLOWED to buy a home. No one else could.

You don't think that's privilege? That only white people could buy homes, and entire cities ended up completely white?

America Was FIRST Founded by Predominantly Anglo Saxon White Men British Subjects . What do you Expect then ? Strawman Much ?

I'm a middle aged straight white male.
I'm married and have two mortgages, but only one home. I remember when hamburgers were half bread and eggs, and we drank a lot of milk because the government subsidied the cost of it

I've been busting my ass for decades and if anyone wants to say anything I have came from white male privilege, I challenge them to come take it from my white male hands.
They'll quickly find out I've got the same worn out knees and leather hard skin.

I take offense to being called privileged, it's hard work to be successful in today's world.
