Disney is not going anywhere and Florida is still one of the best states in the nation even with the Florida Man moniker. Great weather. No State Taxes. Strong state government. 6 of the top 20 beaches in the nation. All good....but more and more people are waking up to DeSantis.

I made no mention of global warming. I stated the weather has been a bit wonky lately. Not just there. It may be weird for a variety of reasons. Maybe it'll straighten back out, maybe it won't. I'm not a scientist. I mean personally I enjoyed the 80 degree weeks in April in Michigan.

Well, for the record GA weather has it's own wonky. From Tornado's to Snow fall Altanta has some weather of it's own. Hurricanes cover a wider area and spawn tornado's but FL is built for that. GA is Tornado Alley in a few places around the ATL. Any place north of the frost line is subject to the same bad weather in Orlando minus the snow. They should stay in FL if I was their CEO.

A clever political campaign smear rumor 😎

Florida can feed a lot of people with their resources too.

Georgia also seems to never be prepared for snow and ice.

It appears to be untrue per local Atlanta news.

Yes... thank god.

Nope, and no real reason to be either. We only get snow or ice every few years, if that.

Didn't get any this year, and I don't think the last 2 or 3 years either.

So the real thing we have to wonder is how much pressure is Disney under to live in Florida, and is that going to run them off?

Certainly, they should stay in Orlando since they have built that city. The reason it struck me to post it was the different articles out there about moving out of FL. I have to believe they are feeling the pinch with the FL Legislature going for their "sovereignty" recently.

edit on 25-4-2023 by Justoneman because: (no reason given)

I was reading discussions about it last year that said geographically there is no place to operate year round like they do in Orlando. On top of the costs to move and rebuild.

It's funny to me, all they have to do is quit being involved in any politics at all. It's pretty simple. They are a entertainment venue....so do what you do best....entertain.

Maybe they'll take up the climate change excuse and have the taxpayers bail them out of FL because it will be underwater by 2035. AL Gore will be their new mascot and Stacie Abrams will be a new ride.

Absolutely! It is about staying in your lane and knowing when to keep your mouth shut.

Yep, and I'd bet not a single one has a home powered on all electric/solar, nor primarily drives an electric car, nor takes any flights but a private jet.

Move this to the Lies Forum, debunked.

They are already hurting, so now close shop pay upwards of a trillion for and wait how long to build a new one?

Pfft!

I’m to the point I won’t spend money on goods or services that have ANY political slant.
I don’t care who you donate to, just don’t throw it in my face.
I’m not looking to support anyone when I look for entertainment, actually most are looking to escape the political bs while being entertained.
The whole “suspension of reality” thing and all.
