The US has sensitive nuclear technology at a nuclear power plant inside Ukraine and is warning Russia not to touch it, according to a letter the US Department of Energy sent to Russia’s state-owned nuclear energy firm Rosatom last month.

Goods, software and technology are subject to US export controls when it is possible for them to be used in a way that undermines US national security interests.

Which undermines American geopolitical interests in area which Russians had asked for security guarantees for a decade and now you have America admitting they had this kind of secret.


What else are they hiding from the American people about Ukraine?

American NIH funded labs in Ukraine would have led to questions about the contracting agencies that funnel money there... can't have that. Welcome to the vagaries of "research."

The US Energy Department has operated Portal Radiation Detectors Throughout nuclear facilities of the former Soviet Union for years. The purpose is to detect and track any smuggling or diversion of nuclear materials. If someone knew how the detectors work and how sensitive they are, they could defeat them. That’s why they would be export controlled.

The existence of this program is not a secret from the American public or anyone else for that matter (Google it). The data that they return is secret.
