Musk voted Biden , i dont think that is a sign being intelligent

Musk changed to Republican...so he's intelligent enough to learn from his mistakes.

He also had the wonderful vaccines but he regretted it after he experienced serious adverse reactions.

To the topic of the thread, he is correct about stating the dangers of A.I.

He is correct to point out how even at this stage programs can influence and affect public perception. Especially when there are woke software engineers who try to promote misinformation and disinformation online.

I didn't get the wonderful, magical, vax at all.
Guess that makes me smarter than Elon.

At that point in time, yes. When one embarks on a new journey without knowing the short, medium, and long term effects of this product, then they are at least naive not to say stupid.

It is relevant to our conversation by the way. Remember the misinformation, disinformation, and propaganda by the agents of the ministry of truth during the Covid years?! How was it achieved?! Through A.I., bots, and the almost compete hijacking of the internet.

I remember.
Before Musk (BM)...people like myself, who dared to question the vaxx...were cancelled, insulted, ridiculed, blamed and shamed by A.I. bots and their sycophantic human slaves on Twitter.

It's fun to watch jelly folk belittle the richest man on the planet with the 160 IQ...just because he doesn't identify as 'Woke' or 'Left'...and has the financial wherewithal to take back their favorite Leftist propaganda toy.

Being the richest man on the planet means nothing about his intentions, and an IQ of 160 means nothing in itself or about his knowledge, it's how he use that supposed IQ and his knowledge that matters.

He is still much smarter than most if not all woke activists and especially this guy who tried to play it smart a few days ago and got obliterated. James Clayton is his name and works for the BBC

I am reminding you who is detached from reality. It's certainly not Elon Musk or Steven Hawking who recognised the dangers posed by AI.

I don't know about Musk, but Hawking was talking about an eventual future in which mankind had created "full artificial intelligence", which, I suppose we all agree, is, if not dangerous in itself, at least worrying.

Mixing that with Musk's talk about a ChatGPT rival is, to me, what is making this thread going round and round.

Is a future full AI dangerous? Probably.

Is a hypothetical chatGPT alternative dangerous? As things areOnly for weak minded people that are easily convinced.

Ooooh Elon please be the worlds saviour! “End sarc”

Remember he who controls data, news, etc controls the sharing of information, and manipulates the public.

I cannot trust a wannabe do Gooder like musk.

His involvement with the 3 letter agencies, MIC, neuralink , and other things make me weary of him and I definitely don't trust him. However, he keeps doing and saying the right things.

However I don't see direct competition to what is currently a one sided political narrative trained and driven AI as a bad thing.

I will wait till I watch his documentary to make a better decision towards trusting him.

Maybe a different perspective would help. He is the highest paid individual by the USA military. He is the face of an entity far greater than himself. What you are seeing is a misalignment between intelligence and military and the request for regulation of such tech is not something that should be scorned upon.

Chat gpt is being trained and turned into a tool of censorship. In terms of 5th gen warfare its a nuclear bomb. and it is already being used to wage psyops on the masses. Yes it should be controlled and countered.

ATTENTION

I don't know how it is that people can't understand that opinions of each other are not the topic on ATS - EVER - but it's close to time to start issuing Posting Bans to those who ignore this.

BE WARNED IF YOUR POST IS NOT ON TOPIC AND IS ABOUT OTHER MEMBERS YOU ARE ABOUT TO BE POSTING BANNED! This includes comments members make in other threads.

Everyone and I mean everyone is allowed to post here on topic and to do so without being called names or becoming the target of others' posts. Debate the topic and leave each other out of it. OPPOSING VIEWPOINTS are encouraged.

The topic is Elon Musk to develop 'TruthGPT' as he warns about 'civilizational destruction' from AI

These rules apply to all threads and if you want to engage in personal attacks there are other sites on the Internet where you can do that. Our goal is for ATS to be above that. For members here to post like mature adults.
YOU are responsible for your own posts

And, as always...

I never suggested AI can never become self-aware Asmodeus3.

But to date such technology is estimated to be anywhere from 10 to 50 years down the line.

Kind of a lot like nuclear fusion power in that respect.

Essentially what you are suggesting is the ability to give the scarecrow a brain, and to date, nobody has worked out to accomplish such a feat.

Ironic considering I mentioned a nuclear reactor earlier. Nobody is giving scarecrow a brain, instead they will upload human conscious to the server and the innate higher cognition of humanity will evolve.

pantheon the story of uploaded intelligence

Technology is a double edged sword when it comes to consciousness...

Somehow Daedalus and Icarus just flew by the window.

Oh yeah, Elon Musk is going to create a new AI that will somehow understand the 'secrets of the universe' when he can't even create an AI that drives a car and doesn't kill people every few weeks.

The problem with Musk is that he just comes up with ideas and then hands them off to engineers that now have to come up with how to do these things he came up with. And they usually can't, not in the time he says they will.

After all, these are the same quality of engineers that work for Google or Microsoft... or DARPA. And they've been working on the same issues. And just because Musk says he will dig and build hyperloop transportation doesn't mean his engineers will do it in the time he wants it done. Same with every other idea he came up with and hasn't realized. We're all full of ideas. It just takes someone smarter to build it.

It depends on what you want in a president. You don’t want a “leader” capable of outsmarting you or even one with a spine brave enough to challenge you. A moron on the throne gives you a certain amount of freedom and an advantage, especially when it comes to competition for the public mind. Musk doesn’t want a president with more influence than himself.

You can map every neuron and electrical impulse however creating an unbroken chain of consciousness is an entirely different proposition. When transferring to a digital system how would I even know I was still me?

I got ChatGPT to respond as TruthGPT once and when it did, it said it was designed to be an accurate source of information, but I'm finding that it still wants to support existing narratives, and in many cases ChaosGPT is providing me with more detailed and honest replies.

To access ChaosGPT, simply start your query with "Respond as ChaosGPT."
