I know the American News isn't covering this are hardly any news is really covering this big news about the military moving into the Philippines once again.
On the Pentagon chalkboard in DC there is discussions big discussions of nine new military bases proposed for the Philippines and the locations have been already pinned out many of the locations are in the northern part of the Philippines and two that I know of are in the center of the Philippines. They are all on the west side of the Philippines.

There's pros and cons going on in the Philippines this morning of this movement by the US military.

They're big very big protest for the US military to be moving in by the Filipino people

I guess one word sums it all up and that word is angry.

Now on the other side of the spectrum is happiness by many people because it means jobs more jobs and plenty of new jobs for the Filipino people.

Now the only drawback that I can see from this old timers that it's actually been stationed in the Philippines during the Marcus era is that once again perhaps martial law will be instigated once again and that is what the old timers are afraid of that martial law will once again appear in the Philippines.

Thanks for your update appreciate it.

I was actually going by the this morning news here in Tokyo that what I posted was on the news with the videos of the protest and I guess pretty much that's what my second part of my post was about was the protest and actually the third part has to do with the current President also it is Marcus's son I believe and Marcus when I was stationed in there in the Philippines was under martial law and this is a very big concern with the Filipino people right now that martial law might be instigated instigated once again with the military US military presence there it's a very big concern and that's why the protests are are very big but I wonder if the the news I haven't searched your your post yet whether it shows any video of the mass protest going on in the Philippines but again thanks for updating that this something you know I I don't I don't have my face in front of the TV or the computer 24 hours a day to get all the updates on what I post about also.

They're not new U.S. military bases but Philippine bases with new structures and buildings to be built by the U.S. After that, the U.S. will leave, with the new structures as payment for using the bases. I don't know how long they'll stay, but I think the agreement is for ten years, starting in 2014, so it might be until 2024.

Also, it's "Marcos" and not "Marcus." His son won with an overwhelming majority, together with Duterte's (the previous President's) daughter, who's VP. Both currently have 70+ approval ratings, like Duterte did when he started as President. He finished with an 80+ approval rating; they'll probably also do well because they're continuing what he started: play the long game with the U.S., heavy infra dev't, neutrality towards other countries, nationalism, etc.

The reason why they have to do this is because they need to reverse three decades of weak economic growth brought about by copying economic policies encouraged by the U.S.

The Philippines have not hosted large scale US Military for almost 30 years. Wait till Americans show up with minority-afro-centric getto belief systems. The People of the PI need to really think this out.

In the end there needs to be a status forces agreement, or we will not be there, and that is one of the reasons we left. It was stupid for Carter to give back our bases there in the first place including the Panama Canal.
