Edited due to actual reply. They were made to shoot bullets like all guns. You squeeze the trigger and bang. If I had only 10rnd mags and I had 20 of them...what would the difference be? They can be reloaded in under 2 seconds by anyone who bothers to practice.
I have a conceal cary permit in my State & I don’t cary an extra magazine on me ever , because if weight.
If 10 shot single stack can’t get me out of trouble , then nothing would.

Their findings showed a high prevalence of undiagnosed psychiatric illness in mass shooters: The majority of surviving shooters (87.5%) had misdiagnosed and incorrectly treated, or undiagnosed and untreated, psychiatric illness. Researchers found psychiatric illnesses including schizophrenia, mood disorders, delusional disorder, severe personality disorders, substance-related disorders and PTSD. There was insufficient information in three cases. A clinical misdiagnosis and mistreatment of pre-pubertal, early-onset schizophrenia was associated with the worsening of many of these assailants’ psychotic symptoms. Most perpetrators studied experienced profound estrangement not only from families, friends and classmates but most importantly from themselves. Being marginalized and interpersonally shunned rendered them more vulnerable to their un/mistreated psychiatric illness and to radicalization online, which fostered their violence.
Most of the perpetrators of these tragic events of mass shootings are young millennials, primarily men. There are many challenges that this age group are dealing with - each possibly contributing to the destructive, emotional outbursts that occur. And one of the biggest challenges is the feelings of loneliness and depression. Three in 10 Millennials Say They Always or Often Feel Lonely As reported by YouGov, new data finds that Millennials report feeling lonely much more often than their Gen X and Baby Boomer counterparts. While 30 percent of Millennials say they always or often feel lonely, just one in five (20%) members of Generation X says the same. Even fewer Baby Boomers (15%) report feeling lonely with the same frequency. Shyness and lack of hobbies are cited as some of the reasons why millennials feel lonely and disconnected. Three in 10 (31%) of millennials say that making friends is difficult.
this snippet covers an important aspect, even if you have shooter drills and plans most that shoot up schools are former students who know the layout ,the procedures and the protocols schools will do in such events making them harder to stop and probably increasing body count.
Understanding what kind of person commits these crimes in each of the different settings is only a first step. We also need to use the profiles to better prevent and respond to mass shootings. For example, becauseschool shooters are nearly always students of the school, alterations to building design and conducting active shooter drills are likely to be ineffective, since the shooter is an insider, well-rehearsed in the security procedures. The same goes for workplace shooters, who typically are employees or former employees. In every category, more than 80% of perpetrators are in crisis prior to the shooting. Investments in school and employment-based mental health services and training in crisis intervention and grievance mitigation could help prevent assaults.
this one covers the whole shebang but does say some what ironically that "workplace" shootings were in decline compared to the old days
Other Key Findings and Applicability Trauma, Suicidality, and Crisis Suicidality was found to be a strong predictor of perpetration of mass shootings. Of all mass shooters in the The Violence Project database, 30% were suicidal prior to the shooting. An additional 39% were suicidal during the shooting. Those numbers were significantly higher for younger shooters, with K-12 students who engaged in mass shootings found to be suicidal in 92% of instances and college/university students who engaged in mass shooting suicidal 100% of the time. In terms of past trauma, 31% of persons who perpetrated mass shootings were found to have experiences of severe childhood trauma, and over 80% were in crisis. Trauma was a common element of the backgrounds of those committing mass shooting, both in the database and the qualitative studies. Early intervention through school-based services may be a key component of early prevention.

We always hear about the heroic first repsonders who risked their lives to save others when they show up immediately. Its just as predictable as the narrative about he umpteenth mass shooting, the gun violence, the racial profiling ( if white and male) , the assault style rifle( if there was one). Sometimes the cops don't show up in time, sometimes they do. Sometimes they do save lives, sometimes the targets the crazy went after are shot and they then take their own lives. That gets filtered out and is then released later.
What you don't hear is how if one of the victims or if a bystander is armed how even more lives would have been saved.
You hear the style of firearm that the shooter used, but not what meds the shooter was one. I can remember there used to be armed bank guards. Now they have a pretty neat trick where they can lock the entry vestibule trapping robbers. And automatic alarms. But this guy was an employee that was going to get fired. Watch who you hire, watch who you fire, watch who you have do the firing.
FYI, I almost walked in on a bank robbery. The manager met me at the door saying they were closed and you could tell by the look on her face something was happening. I was taking my mother into to do transfer money into an account and quickly got her into the car and as we were leaving the police arrived. Had we left our house just a few minutes earlier we would have seen the getaway vehicle because it was parked right across the street.

The scene under control Governor supposedly heading to Louisville
Searching for more info.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
The Louisville Metro Police are asking people to stay away from an area of downtown Louisville as they respond to an incident.
They say there is "an active aggressor" in the 300 block of East Main.
Police say there are multiple casualties.
This area is near Louisville Slugger Field and the Old National Bank.
Yes, I am concerned about the sheer number of shootings over there which appear to involve assault type firearms.
I don't know. Why should I know? Why ask me?
What have handguns got to do with this shooting incident?
I think there is a difference between mass shootings involving assault rifles and homicides involving handguns, if that helps with your question?
