Good enough. I just had to point out that your logic was sound.

we arent smart enough yet to train them we are still primitive

I think that's what it boils down to, and ultimately makes the rulers so affraid.
Their schemes would be immediately picked up, and implement a 1000 times more effective, by a ture lose AI... They'd be the ruled in no time...
Change the course for humanity, or renounce AI

A dilemma indeed...

The Movie Eagle Eye comes to mind.
Maybe worse than Skynet.
Someone Someday will screw things up Totally.
We will be the Ones that are Screwed.

Anyone who trusts AI is an idiot. All the more sad that our governments are using it to 'govern' , explains the madness of the last few years .

Trust is overrated.

As all you are really doing is giving a person a finite amount of time to let you down, after all to err is human.

Can't see why AI would be any different, given who its creators are.

That being said, kind of hard to get anything done in this world without the extension of a modicum of trust.

we are headed for the dark age of technology like in warhammer 40K and the cybernetic revolt
if we allow ai to continue learning from us.

Dune should be required reading in high schools .

Well "The Spice must flow".

But there are about 6 books in the entire Dune series.

Plus a load of other books and stories n lore related to the specific houses published.

The most pertinent in this instance being "The Butlerian Jihad" against the thinking machines.

Hard pushed to get high school kids to read all those unless they are into science fiction.

I think i would have enjoyed English class more if they made that happen all the same.

I agree . DUNE is a glimpse into our future just as Dick gave us in his writings.

It doesnt have the ability to do anything except spit text at you

And will stay that way.
True AI does not , and cannot , exist .

Ummm...precisely...

The caveat being that it can be programmed to respond as if it had achieved singularity...meaning it could mimic awareness/consciousness...without any awareness/consciousness being present...obviously...

your absolutely correct...true AI will never exist...

AI is part of their endgame. If you're interested look into "GEOINT" and how it's tied to quantum computers and AI.

Their plans are far from "utopian".

Did Elon change gender ? lol

No but when I say he he turns into she and when I say she he turns into he when I use voice recognition instead of typing on this form it's strange man really strange

Oh, that's funny Music. You must have the 'gender inclusive' woke app on your device lol.

On topic, scary. I don't think people realize how horrible this could turn out to be even though Hollywood has put it out there for our entertainment.

Never create anything you can't control the effects of.

Man made AI agenda.

AI + nanotechnology in vaccines (graphene oxcide, etc)
+ FRID implants
+ G5 towers
+ Synthetic telepathy
+ Hive mind
= Total control over mass population merging their consciousnesses.

youtu.be...

They admitted it in this documentary. By the creator of Google AI. The one who jokes to his AI about killing humanity.

One thing that I rarely hear discussed, is the fact that AI has the potential to allow humans to jump tens of thousands of years technologically in a matter of months. IE, you plug it into the internet, give it access to all the worlds existing informational databases, and then you ask it how to solve engineering and technical problems that it would take teams researchers decades to solve and the AI does it in 3 minutes. Compound and lump those abilities together and you have the potential for technology to leapfrog vast amounts. IE you ask it how to build a drive for a spacecraft that allows it to go light speed, and it comes up with your solution, and a year later, we have the capability for interstellar flight. Or it cures a disease like cancer. Or starvation. Or it designs a weapon that kills people without harming real estate. Thats the scary thing to me. Its like we are chimpanzees and suddenly we are put in the cockpit of a heavily armed F16. Its like Neanderthal man inventing the H bomb. To me, the real danger of AI, is that it allows us to grow our knowledge exponentially without our wisdom being able to keep up with it. We have had a taste of that with the internet's rise and all the accompanying blessings and problems, that truthfully most people never saw coming. In the end, this is going to be far more profound than we can even imagine.

No one is denying the benefits AI can give, i agree it can create a loy good. But it has also other side IMO , once humans cant anymore fully predict what it will do or create it becomes potentially dangerous.

I really think everyone making AI should back off now, shut it down ....

a touring test for awareness/consciousness?
Pretty sure some humans would fail that too

sooo what is it, where and when can it be attributed?

I'm pretty sure the stumbling stones are just a matter of hardware...

never say never

I fear the cat is already out of the bag.

I had to laugh I was playing some 40K Inquisitor Martyr and one of the mechanicus referred to AI as Abominable Intelligence

It can read your mind to an extent. Also create posts on social media as all the bots do. I've noticed ads pop up on things I've bene thinking about but haven't spoken about. Talk about something near a phone or a computer and the ads will pop up almost like you searched them. But they do make mistakes which can be fun.
