I believe that covers animal sacrifices.

God didn’t, animal sacrifice was a human form of covenant pre God and Israel.
God just used a form of ritual that humanity understood and when it became law, it had many rules and expectations
Considering child sacrifice was considered acceptable and normal in society back then, animal sacrifice was not as bad
Abraham not sacrificing Isaac was an indication to Israel to Jews forever, human sacrifice wasn’t required, was not expected ever by YHWH
