Funny you should ask, I have a theory.

I'm becoming more and more convinced the madness goes back to the shutting down of federally funded mental institutions in the 80's. Thousands of mental deficients let loose into society. Out there procreating, I'm sure often times with other unstable individuals, compounding mental, emotional and psychological impairments. We have been literally breeding insanity for at least 2 generations.
