I have to say I much prefer just being a regular Joe customer.

The Banter Cafe was great, having a bit of craic with people never did any harm.
Of course there's got to be limits, just like there is in 'real' life.

I think most of us who've been here a few years know where the line is....but you just can't beat a bit of taking the piss.

To be fair I think DTOM tried her best at the time.

LOL! I didn't see your thread or have anything to do with your thread being removed, but I do see a problem/the problem with craptastic threads that provide no quality or substance for discussion. Such threads are not in the spirit of ATS and only serve to dumb down the entire site.

On a grander level, such threads turn into a bitchfest of hatefulness and hurtfulness that only serves to perpetuate and escalate the divide-and-conquer campaign against the people... you and me and everyone.

This crap hurts EVERYONE.

I cannot speak to your pulled thread, but I would bet dollars to donuts that not everyone found the "humor" funny or amusing, and I'd also bet that "funny" was just mocking and ridiculing others. And for what? Cheap points. And some ego boosting.

While the world goes to hell in a handbasket.

I hate seeing ATS dragged down to this level. We used to be better than this. Now it seems that mediocrity is good enough.

I did a search for the Banter Cafe and it came up on here.

I don't know how to link to it.
