For the most part, this is a conspiracy site, as a conspirational theorist it is a sworn duty to find one in the most unlikely of places. Which isn't that difficult as most humans haven't got the slightest clue what the actual truth of any matter is. Simply because the truth is infinitely variable and malleable subject to opinion. Unless it is empirically proven by repeated experiments in a scientific manner. So everyones truth is different, and highly adaptable to a cash exchange when required.
But common sense suggests that a nuclear war is not in most people's interest so common sense suggests arguments that try to avoid said might be the best option.

I agree that Russia has the momentum right now, but do you seriously think they'd be able to get back on the Dnieper west bank? That would be way harder than taking Bakhmut, which has already taken them several months so far. I think that could happen maybe next year, but only if Western supports stops coming like you said. In the current situation it's impossible, and especially if we increase artillery shell production to sufficient levels.

I don't know if they can, but I think they'll try. Once (or if) they force the Ukrainians out of the present positions in the southeast they'll probably spend some time fortifying the area and regrouping.

At some stage they'll have to look to expand further and I don't know what point there would be in taking it north. I think those extra troops will play a part then. I'm not saying it will happen soon, or be decisive if it does happen, but Russia has no other option than to go all the way. For them, this is existential.

Of course if the Ukrainians can mount a reasonable counter offensive in south east in the meantime this might be a mute point anyway.

In the end economics will determine the outcome of the war. So an awful lot depends on how NATO can stock them and keep them afloat economically. If this starts to fall away it will spell the end and I'm not sure how much longer it can go on at this level for the west. I think people are overlooking some powerful economic allies Russia has that have every interest in keeping them afloat. They've certainly surpassed expectations so far.

The winter offensive went on for a few months, you could see it in reported casualties at least if you trust those. It just didn't get far. Now the ground has been muddy for a while.

Not the type of offensive that was being expected or talked about though.

It's a good thing I didn't say that he never said that.

I will note, though, that your first quote doesn't in any way project the end of the war will be soon. The 24 hours was talking about something else. Why include that quote? It doesn't show what you were saying at all.

The 2nd quote that it will be over in 10 days is, of course, exactly what you said, and he was wrong.

Again, I'm not saying the guy is right.

It's worth noting though that the official narrative has gotten a lot of things wrong as well. So by the logic that this guy made inaccurate predictions so he can't be listened to, no one spouting the official narrative can be listened to either, right?

That's pretty much where I'm at, actually. I don't believe anyone because there's no way of knowing who's telling the truth.

Macgregor presents a social and political commentary concerning Western countries. A common hallmark among those countries is the inability of successive governments to resolve issues strangling their homelands. For instance, Australia and New Zealand are crushed by housing crises.

But Macgregor's views relating Putin and Russia are nonsensical. First, Putin embarking on Russia's invasion of Ukraine is risking his regime's future. Also, the war in Ukraine's outcome is undecided, but Putin is betting on the future of his regime on the war's outcome.

Also, China is looking to Taiwan in their attempts to play peacemaker between Russia and Ukraine. If the international community accepted anything less than removing Russian forces from Ukraine, WW3 would follow. Russia and China would take that as a green light to undertake military aggression.

Curiously, he misjudges China's ties with Russia: Putin's Russia is China's junior with no room to refuse Xi Jinping's demands. So the prospect of China - Russia relations souring is on the table, and the fallout from that possible eventuality is worth considering. If China perceives Putin's demise as imminent, they might invade Siberia under the guise of liberation.

Lastly, his comparison between the Vietnam and Ukraine wars is rubbish. In South Vietnam, there was an unwillingness among an element of the population to defend their country against their Communist neighbours. But Ukrainians are willing to defend their country against Russia's invasion, and if adequately supplied, they will succeed.

I do agree with Bernie--Russia is hanging by a thread-The Ukranians are just better soldiers and have much better commanders. Russia can mobilize their canon fodder in a month or so to be slaughtered once again. Russians have not changed their tactics since WW!!. The Russians will sack Putin once Kiev runs thru Crimea extremely easy. They will bomb the Kersh bridge so the Russians can not leave. They will then surrender by the thousands. Ukraine may let Russia have a small piece on Donetsk oblast since must of the people there are pro-Russian but maybe Not. As long as we support Ukraine Russia can not win. We have better equipment and a super advantage in just about every thing . If Russia tries to use Nukes that will be the end of Russia as we know it. AFter the russians pull back the west will send fighter planes to secure the air space although I think their pilots will run if they see F35s and Typhoon fighters. They have nothing that can compete with Nato's fighters. The Russians should depose Putin asap, pay for their war crimes then the USA to empty their sperm banks since they do not have enough men left to continue their race.., Pretty sad I think.
