The rain season is about to start and the Ukrainians are still fighting a year after this senseless war started. Once Spring arrives I think that we can expect a Ukrainian counter offensive.

If that's our strategy, we're gonna lose. We've been trying to cripple Russia economically for years. They've mostly adapted to it. At this point our sanctions are just for show.

It's also a basic point of knowledge in international relations that authoritarian regimes can weather tough times easier than democracies can. Here, you can get voted out of office if gas prices go up too much. Putin doesn't have to worry about that. You could argue he does have to worry about getting killed in an insurrection, but people have to get much more riled to do that than they do to go down to the ballot box and vote for the other guy in the US.

This is the first time I've heard this guy talk.

All I heard him say about timing was that the war was gonna drag on for a long time.

I don't necessarily agree with everything he said, it's just nice to hear a different perspective. He's right about one thing, you hear the same thing about the war on pretty much every channel. When Fox and CNN are telling the same story, it's definitely time to get suspicious.
