The Jesus of the Bible was a communist. If you aren't a communist, then you are anti-Christ.

You don't have to be religious to see it because the truth can be found everywhere.

That's why I can appreciate a leftist when they stumble on the truth despite being what they are at heart. When they are honest enough to see it and know it and embrace it, then I am honest enough to recognize it. I disagree with Bill Maher a lot, but there are moments when he sees.

And these days, there are a decent number of old school left/liberals who are recognizing the distinct flavor of authoritarianism coming out of the left as not what they signed on for. I can appreciate that honesty in them even as I know they won't disagree with me on much else.

I understand you think you are right on this, but this forum is not a pulpit; it is a discussion. Not everyone in life will agree with you, and it doesn't lessen them when they do not agree. You need to understand that you are not the arbiter of truth. None of us are. We are speaking from our own perspectives, and perspectives can be flawed. That's why disagreement is so critical to a productive society; how else can one fix the flaws in their perspective?

This was not "charity", which is simply giving what you can spare.

That's not what charity is. That's the IRS definition of charity, not God's definition. If all you give is what you feel you can spare, you're not giving for God... you're trying to make yourself look good before man.

Want scriptures for that? Try Mark 12:41-44:

Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much.

Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans.

So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury;

“for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.”

Those two mites, given out of need, were worth more to Jesus than all the money the rich gave out of their excess. That's charity: giving even when one wants something for oneself. That's faith: giving all one has but knowing that God will provide all one needs.

No, charity is not just giving what you happen to not need. That's a tax deduction.

The fact that I'm not a Christian doesn't mean I don't understand the Bible

Yes, it does. Many Christians, especially those who have only practiced the faith for a short time, have trouble understanding the lessons in the Bible. I had trouble with it for decades. The only way to understand those lessons is to listen to the Holy Spirit as He guides you through them. Yes, you can know the words, but you cannot know the meaning until you speak to the Author. He and He alone knows what meaning those words were intended to convey.

You can put on a Stetson hat and some nice boots; you're not a cowboy. You can dress in a suit and tie; doesn't make you an executive. You can even go buy yourself a Lamborghini and tool around town; doesn't make you "cool" or make you a "playa." You can drive a '70 Hemi Cuda that shakes the ground under you with every hit; you're not automatically a hot-rodder. You're just pretending until you completely accept the lifestyle and everything that comes with it.

You can move to Alabama; won't make you an Alabamian. You can move to Texas; won't make you a Texan. You can move to France; won't make you a Frenchman. Only by trying to understand the meaning behind the way people do things in those places can you ever become one of them. Until you do that, you're a freakin' tourist.

I commend you for reading the bible and trying to understand it. But you are still just a spectator. If you want to speak to the Bible with any authority, you have to meet Jesus. That is the true test, not how many Bible verses you can quote.

Your OP here mate is a prime example of someone taking the bible just a Bit to literal.

Simply addressing this due to how funny it is. So, if we are not supposed to take the Bible's laws literally, which are QUITE clear.... on whose "interpretation" should we rely on? Yours?....

The interpretation of using your Mind , the Very Mind that God blessed every human with .

Jesus responded by asking whose face was engraved on the coins used to pay the taxes. When they answered it was Caesar's face, Jesus replied with the now-famous verse, “Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God the things that are God's” (Matthew 22:21)

God does not want your Earthly possessions , God is logical and understanding . The God I serve fully understands what is necessary to survive and provide for your self and family in this world.

God wants your Faith , Love and Attention not your money or your house .

Go over to a communist country and you'll see it is far from the egalitarian utopia that Jesus endorsed. In Jesus's archetype the people serve each other, whereas in the communist ideology the people serve the state.

You give people too much credit as I have seen too many logic loop drive byes to think people actually want to understand and not just play a game in trying to get people stuck.

He was the king designate while on earth, coming in the line of David he had the legal right to the throne. And since 1914 C. E. he has been ruling on David's throne

Could you explain this a little better? I'm not seeing any significant connection between religion and the year 1914.
Thanks.

I believe this is in reference to Charles Taze Russell and his Russellites, which came to be known as Jehovah's Witnesses.

The very base is being in the world and not of it. If you're in the world and not of it, then worldly things matter less to you than spiritual ones because you aren't anchored in the world.

LOL. As said, I won't refer to the point anymore because the bible is QUITE CLEAR regarding what Jesus commanded and how HE LIVED: in a communist community, where no one owned anything, with his followers. Then, if people want to engage in mental juggling to try to deny Jesus and how he lived/preached, that's your choice and fine by me! You're the one buying your ticket to hell, according to your law. Good luck!

What I will say is that it never stops to amaze me how conservative Americans really go nuts when they realize that Jesus, when it comes to economics, would have probably voted for a socialist, a democrat, or the communist party if there was one.

And, for those "accusing" me of "communist", I really don't care for politics at all, or what people do with money or property. But some people have trouble realizing that many of the beliefs they uphold are contradictive in so many ways, so they need to push me into a category where they can just play the straw man card. Literally: "you are wrong because the Soviet Union didn't go well", lols.

Or, how do you reconcile the fact of "loving your enemies" (like Jesus commanded) with having guns for personal defense?... And, again, if people have or not have guns, I couldn't care less. You can have an atomic bomb and I wouldn't care at all. Enjoy it, probably a great show for the 4th of July.

Or how these apostate Christians go around judging others, on who is right or wrong, good or bad, intelligent or dumb, satanic or not, when their own GOD, Jesus, told them NOT to judge. Gotta say, these Christians apostates are BRILLIANT when it comes to desacrating the religion they claim to defend. The leave absolutely no stone unturned. They hate their enemies, they hate their neighbors, they judge anyone that crosses them, they accumulate wealth and property, and even promote wars when the USA "needs it". But somehow, they still think that Jesus is on their side... lol.

My point here is simply pointing out the hypocrisy that sometimes one finds around, and how many apostates (Christian or not) use religion for political reasons or to satisfy their own personal ludicrous beliefs that go completely against what they claim to preach. There is a LOT of that among the "Christians" you find in online, engaging in discussions that question the Bible. Then, regarding the ways of the world, economics, politics, etc. I don't really care for that.

Sure. Actually I made a thread about it that goes into detail why we can conclude 1914 Jesus was installed as king:

You give people too much credit

Perhaps. But while there may indeed be only a tiny fraction of those who actually want to understand, I want to at least reach them. Those who deny for denial's sake don't bother me... like the one they heed, they are impotent and irrelevant, just a speedbump on the journey.

A very small speedbump.

Another poster (was it Myke?) commended you for your honesty despite your lack of formal faith. I would like to add my kudos to that.

Seeing the OP's posts in the "Real War Satan Is Waging" thread (started by a Jehovah's Witness) it is apparent that they are using the tactic the Smug Atheist Meme shows us. Unfortunately, I cannot upload pics, but the quote is:

"You should support every one of my political beliefs, because Jesus said to be compassionate in the bible somewhere. No I am not a Christian and I have nothing but contempt for your backward religious beliefs, so yeah this argument would not work on me but maybe if I use it on you, you'll do what I want."

So yeah, this person is arguing in bad faith and I have wasted too much time in just responding.

But, you know what Jesus said and did thanks to the Bible. If the Bible is lying or manipulating the truth, what's your source for Jesus then?...

Charity and communism are not the same thing. Proof is in the practice vs reality.
