Actually in the 70's, we were supposed to be in another Ice Age at this time. At that time, there were discussions about increasing CO2 levels and the amount of water vapor to keep the temperatures up. At least that's what I was being taught in 5th and 6th Grade Science class. (1974-76)

No-one said all the world's glaciers would disappear by the early 21st century. They did say global temps would rise (they have) and that extreme weather events, especially heatwaves, floods and drought would increase in frequency and severity (they have). As for coastal erosion, try telling the people of eastern England that that's not happening and hasn't got much worse in recent years!

But I'm not angry with anyone. Just bemused. Not all of us are religious .....

and I'm sorry your shores are eroding, but the sea level remains right about where it's been on the East coast of the US for a very long time. I have places with tide cut lines and pictures from 100 years ago to back that up. And to know we have been emerging from an Ice age doesn't signal to you that temperatures would increase?

Yes, the climate changes, it always has. Some years we have lots of storms and bad weather. and some years not so much.

If AGW is going to kill us all, you will need to find some new metric to scare me with. The old one's didn't pan out. But please don't let me ruin a good yarn. Lord knows we need to redistribute a good bit of our money to a select few. (that's a totally unproven, patently false don't follow the money ever kind of statement)
