China fully expected to ascend to its (what it perceives as) rightful place as the next superpower.

It's our turn, they believed.

Economically they have seen unprecedented levels of growth and this trajectory indicated that they would supercede the US as the economic powerhouse of the future.

The US it seems have taken their prized work, the art of war by Sun Tzu, and have showed the Chinese they do not understand its principals nearly as well as they thought they did. The US copied the approach and out-copied China.

China has been surrounded by American bases.

If China thought she had leverage by having most of the world at its mercy by being the biggest export manufacturer of most things we consume, they made a fatal strategic error.

The West doesn't care how it affects their citizens.

The West doesn't care for the rights of their citizens anymore.

Want to destroy the culture with Marxist ideology? Come right in and thanks for doing the dirty work for us so we can reshape our countries into one global totalitarian state that China will be envious of for all its effectiveness at dominating the ordinary statistic, body and mind.

The Chinese can break the West, because collapse of sovereignty is what the West wants!

Not only does this work in favor of our elites while providing this as a free service, it also gives them a handy scapegoat for the people to turn their anger towards

Combine all the militaries in the world with that of China's, and it's still not as big as the US military.

And that military, it has you now exactly where it wants you, surrounded.

Go ahead, make the first move and try and take Taiwan...

Joe Biden might be the legitimate face of the Drunken Master strategy, but I'm not fooled for one second that there are still very clear, coherent and ruthlessly efficient minds working behind the scenes doing exactly what it is they are supposed to be doing in order to ensure China does not become the next biggest superpower.

Something else to consider is the technology coming from the Netherlands that is 10 years ahead of any competition that we know of.

Ignore the clickbaity title, the video itself is very informative.

Horseshoe theory in its finest.

People are cucking for China now just because it’s contrarian.

Social credit score, concentration camps, welded in their house, and literal censorship by the government at every level.

But they’re not the US, so they must be the good guy or at least a victim.

I don’t hate the Chinese people or wish their country ill, but they’re as close to a totalitarian country as it gets, and it’s an issue that they will be the superpower one day.

I think the Chinese are watching the Russians and second guessing their own military power. China's military has never been tested. Meanwhile the Europeans / West have been warring with each other since the dawn of time. It is a national sport.

There is also the issue of the Bio labs in Ukraine.
Which US seems quiet.

Not to mention China is decades away from having meaningful naval projection capabilities.

They need many more years of trade with the west to get there.

If you are referring to my position, I am sorry to inform you that you couldn't be more wrong and I would love to know how anything I posted could be misconstrued as sympathy for China.

The Chinese are screwed, even if they are unwilling to admit it.

They have been out witted.

The US took their GOF research and like the poison apple it is, gifted it to China.

They will shoulder all of the world's anger, imo.

They faked that 10% yearly growth and are now paying the price. Ghost towns where millions can live are empty even having everything from massive living areas, stores, transportation, schools etc. etc all empty never used. Trillions is now lost as the massive newly created middle class from our companies that went there lost everything as they invested into that massive growth dream. Buildings are falling apart after 5 to 10 years...

In the last 10 years the number of US business has been dropping off for two big reasons.
1. China is starting to be too expensive, and just like manufacture moved from Japan in the 80s to Korea and then from Korea to China in the late 1990s they will go to the next low income country that offer great advantages to come there.
2. China has stopped playing nice and have made it nearly impossible for new business to startup there. High cost and things like China demanding full rights to their preparatory technology has pretty much dried up any expansion of foreign investments.

Go ahead, make the first move and try and take Taiwan...

One big issue with China is they cannot make the tech the west makes. Their level of CPUs is that of the lowest level like what goes in toys as example. Same with just about everything in they can kind of make things but are extremely limited. Their aircraft carrier can hardly launch fighters with both fuel and bombs on them at the same time. Much of what they do is built on the point of look what we have, but don't look behind the curtain. We also need to understand that China is a massive importer too, especially food, so they need to walk very lightly around Taiwan and Ukraine or they could end up in really big trouble much deeper than the big trouble they also have created all by themselves.

I don't think so.

A peace deal will be reached. Russia will get to keep the Russian speaking territories while Blackrock and Co will get to rebuild the rest of Ukraine, and I'm sure the estimated cost of $1trillion is only a draft estimate.

The other option is to push until mutually assured destruction occurs, and nobody really wants that.

The next Berlin Wall or Korea-like DMZ separating the two sides.

I believe robotics will soon render that approach obsolete.

People have been saying "China is the next superpower" for a decade. It's all so simplistic. China has enough problems to fill several skips, not the least population decline, debt, and the tricky problem of one party dictatorship that cannot meet the expectations of an increasingly educated population.

Over the last five years, the developed Western democracies have started to protect their own economies against the racket of IP theft and off-shoring to China, as well as protecting key industries.

Basically, China many never become a truly developed nation. Always stealing for advantage, because the societal barriers put in place to control the population, also inhibit innovation and civil freedoms. These are necessary prerequisites for countries to develop advanced and sustainably prosperous economies and societies.

They have skirmishes with India and India waxes their ass with each event. What one would call a Chinese soldier is pretty much a joke. This is really not a good time to go against the west that been in real wars for the last 20+ years, it would not be good for them.

Two sides to that coin with low cost labor AND great incentives a country gives to companies to invest there. That is what China did at first, but now they are 180% the other way in you need to buy your way in.

This is happening in the West as well.

Take a trip to China, or Hong Kong, and report back. Even the worst behaviour in the developed West does not align with the best behaviour in China.
