Walmart has been limiting chicken, beef, fish and other items for over a year now. And some veggies as well. Usually limited to 3 item.

Do you live in a major city like NYC?

We have nothing like that here in middle america that I have seen.

I haven't been able to find anything on this, other than if you order online (they reserve the right to limit amounts).

Curious to know where bill is, as well.

The winter hasn't started yet, there has been a rapid polar warming event that seems to be just hitting, when this happens, the warm areas displace the cold and it wanders south. Like the beast from the east in 2018.

Anchovies and sardines from that area have increased in price by about 28%. Shipping cost are up. Maybe that is why?

The real question is....why would anyone buy more than 1 cucumber when you go shopping.I still have one from 2 weeks ago still going strong.

That was my first thought too. When people hoard, it's not fresh fruit and vegetables. Sure you can freeze them or can them or whatever you fancy but it's just not a typical hoard item. And if you freeze cucumbers they just turn to mush anyway so there's absolutely no reason to do this. So you can cross that off the list.

The root cause is an actual food shortage being masked under the guise that people are just "buying too much" and need to be limited. Biden even made a gaff in his Ukraine speech about the "coming global food shortages".

Cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, broccoli and radishes do not take any skill to grow, at all. I know it's not growing season right now in the northern hemisphere but if you want to take up a new hobby or learn a new skill this year, it should be gardening.

I think you're bang on.

I also think it's being engineered.

Spanish weather has been cold the last few months it seems. -2 to 8c° from what I saw. So the only difference in location (UK or Spain) is the potential for UV exposure. I could check if it was cloudy too?

We do import from SA too although Brexit might actually have a knock on effect with that, plus energy prices. Has South Africa had a particularly dry Summer?

I imagine supermarkets in the UK are loathed to charge 2-3 times the price on items that people don't need. It's a tight market and I find it telling which stores aren't limiting purchases.

I'm sorry Oldcarpy2, I'll rephrase it.

Biblical Revelations is happening now.
Christ rides a white horse not a bike. Unless E.T. is in the front basket.

And yes, HAARP is MY opinion. Frequency, vibration and energy, also the government and military have given pinkie promised not to lie, deceive, poison or experiment on the people on anything. Trust and Truth reeks and oozes from the powers that be.

And of course the government has/is been messing with our farmers crops is another attack on our food resources.

The world leaders are going crazy. WEF, WHO are trying to get around our constitution. Is Biden defending our constitution or trying to circumvent it?

Control the food, then you control the people.

I, like many others are raising chickens for eggs and meat.
I'm planning on getting a couple goats for milk and other milk based products.

HAARP or not, it's gonna get worse as our food production/supplies gets disrupted. This administration is balls to the wall breaking this country to it's knees. I will prevail along with many others or die from a heart attack. I've had four in past 3 years and 6 stents. No mRMA for me.

May you and your family and friends be safe and secure in this world wide madness.

I don't know whether this is the plan, but it looks like, if they are going to go to war the populations have to be massaged and prepared, as the shortages will be massive 15 min. cities would use a lot less energy, and curfews would have to be implemented as well. Not to mention ration cards, because that's the way it looks like it is heading.

I hear ya bro.

My theory is that, this may be a natural occurrence that just happens to coincide with their plans to destabilize everything.

If we keep seeing shortages, we'll know for sure.

We have so far...

My wife doesn't drive and is particular about what she buys and from where.
So every Thursday I get to drive her around various shops, today has been no exception.

Today we started off at the local market where she regularly buys mainly local produce from small independent traders some of whom she is friends with.
Then it was to Morrisons followed by stops at B&M, Sainsburys, Lidl, Aldi and M&S.

No-one was actually being limited on how much they could buy of anything and no-one was panic buying.

It maybe be different elsewhere in the UK and things may change in the future but at the moment everything appears to be pretty much the same as usual where I live.

Thanks for that input, always good to know what people are seeing on the ground.

It seems to be only certain locations as far as I can tell.

No tomatoes here in darkest Wiltshire. Morrisons, Lidl and Waitrose.

Eggs are in short supply, too.

Should be back to normal in 2 or 3 weeks, apparently.

I may put them on eBay?

Wow, 'Er Indoors said there were plenty of tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, peppers etc - I don't actually go in the shops with her, we'd end up buying half the shop. I usually read the paper, pick my horses out, annoy my Grandson if he's with us and then read a book.

However, she did say that they were all quiet. Its the week before pay week for many people.
Next week it might be quite different.

And also there's the fact that we in the hinterlands of North East England tend to be quite a bit behind the rest of the UK!🤣🤣
