Putin is taking the word " boring " to a new level.

There's nothing to worry about; our commander in chief is a 'first strike' kind of guy, and Putin just played into his hand.

"The elites of the West do not hide their purpose. But they also cannot fail to realise that it is impossible to defeat Russia on the battlefield," a defiant Putin told his country's political and military elite.

Kinda sounds like he's playing into the "elite" conspiracy to muster western support for Russia. Doesn't sound like he's too interested in peace without accomplishing his goals.

I don't see how Putin can blame the western "elites" if he's not all that interested in peace negotiations and compromise.

"The people of Ukraine have become the hostage of the Kyiv regime and its Western overlords, who have effectively occupied this country in the political, military and economic sense," Putin said.

This is exactly why I'm against all this help we're giving to Ukraine. Plus I thought democrats hated Nazis. Why potentially start WWIII over a small country like that that really does nothing for the US. Insanity is putting it nicely.
