NASA isn't announcing the existence of extraterrestrial life. But if the last two weeks show anything, it's if the agency ever breaks such news, the world may have trouble understanding.

Google searches for "extraterrestrial life" and "are aliens real" spiked. The Associated Press reported that online posts mentioning extraterrestrials increased by nearly 300% after the first balloon.

"The biggest challenge is trying to keep that communication on an even keel, right? With an excitement, and yet also understanding that we need to set the expectations that we have to follow the scientific process."

That's why NASA has tried to develop a procedure for assessing and sharing such a monumental, sensitive discovery. The conversation is still ongoing, Glaze said, but in 2021, the agency published a framework as a starting point. It could help scientists, journalists, and NASA itself explain the science.

It's called the "confidence of life detection" (CoLD) scale, rating scientific confidence in any potential alien-life discovery on a scale of one to seven. A possible detection can climb to higher levels of confidence as evidence builds.

The discovery of intelligent alien life would be even more Earth-shattering. That would come with its own conundrums: How do we communicate with them? What do we say? And how might they respond?

Needless to say, any discovery of alien life would likely lead to chaos — at least in public discourse.

Perhaps the shooting down of “objects” was a test to gauge public reaction…..

Can we handle the truth if the truth is truly Extraterrestrial???

I have always thought….bring it on….tell us Extraterrestrials exist and are here! I say that based on desensitization of what has already been described as to what Extraterrestrials may look like and act like…..portrayed in books, movies, shows, documentaries throughout the decades past. Sure we portray what we see as science fiction……but of the thousands of portrayals……what’s to be afraid of?

So it may have 3 eyes and 4 arms…or shape shift, etc i.e..

WELL, let me think again. BOLL#ckS, just why is it gotta be ANY American agency to tell the whole world aliens exist. Maybe Sri Lanka or Djibouti will announce aliens are real. There are more countries got a stake in this World than America.

I don't believe we would know alien life if we met it because we would probably spend ages talking to a probe with a programmed character designed to communicate on our level.

We would perhaps decieve aliens the same way if we encountered them in our travels to remain in control of a naturally fearsome situation.

The announcement or speculation of life visiting us on Earth MUST BEAR ABSOLUTE SCRUTINY BEYOND DOUBT.

Or it's just more hollywood smoke and mirrors.

Well maybe there are no aliens.

This is why no disclosure will come. No one person or group represents the entire world, and none will not believe the others.

Theyre here anyway. Always were. We are just too young to understand a million...billion yrs ahead...And waiting for an official piece of paper announcement...is foolish. You need that?

Most of the world agrees signs are all around...and NASA is just one of many around the world in many countries.....Hardly THE ONE to make THE statement...which will never come.

I wrote an OP not long after joining ATS about seeing strange things.
This OP made me go back and read it.
Oh,oh,oh, I could have done a much better job writing that.
Reads like BS to me now.
Thing is, it wasn’t
Dozens of fishermen saw what I did so lousy a job at describing.
Here’s where I think it ties in to this OP.
No one would talk about it back on the beach later.
That day offshore quite a few guys chimed in over the VHS to those wanting to discuss it……I heard, “I didn’t see anything” from guys running boats that the lump of water that huge lump of glassy water was only feet away from their boats at times.

Thing is, I believe disclosure would be considered just more
BS and would really not solve anything.
What would it take for anyone to truly believe disclosure since we have been lied to, over and over >>>>>>>>>>>?

I'm guessing if something is found it will be leaked to the press and everyone will know about it long before there's a press conference from NASA.

Or, they'll "discover" us first and the large city sized space ships that appear over the largest cities in the world won't be denied. Though then the question would be. What do they want?

You’re right….the government does not need to be involved..yet……only after a crash or landing in a populated area with numerous witnesses and numerous video and images captures….so that the event is totally indisputable for the world to see.

Ufos, aliens, or whatever cosmic highly irregular fact to our experience, I think it was GUT who said in one post that we might be being programmed for a disclosure. It looks like that can be possible.

Of course, we can never know until it happens.


Any such disclosure, though, will require “proof, “of and any proof can and will always be challenged.

The conspiracy theorists will cry, BLUE BEAM, BLUE BEAM.

The skeptics and some scientists will cry. Not enough proof--- I want to see them on the white house lawn.

The religious literalists will say their particular version of God is not represented, so it must be false.
And so on and so on….

Oh I believe the possibility of others being out there, is very real; however, if the government is telling us they are real, then more then likely they got some dirty, alien stuff, up.

I'm wondering just what the goal a soft reveal is , I'm not a big believer that Et's travel light years to joy ride here on earth and not even stop and get a hot dog from pinks - If it's anything it comes from here either the oceans or inner earth .

If you mean intelligent alien life we can communicate with…I suppose so on an individual (abductions/meditation), small group/club (CE-5) level …..but not on a worldwide level yet…imo.

Good question Karl….

For me stealth can take place in different forms like solid materials profiles (B-2, F-117A), biological camouflage, and projected holograms.

I suppose stealth would be in the offering…but how would anyone know unless whatever it is “uncloaks” so to speak.
