They don’t see cockpit video in real time. The only one they would have had time to see any kind of video was the one over Alaska. And that would have been through thermal imaging of an object with almost no thermal signature.

Why I ask thanks for the answers, you are better than Janes and a damn sight cheaper

What's with the Russian bombers? Having our forces and their forces engage daily is inherently dangerous...

They need to get that missile too.

The missile that mised is sitting in Lake Huron waiting to detonate when a fishing boat hits it or a pleasure boat.

There is reason why suspended it was nonsense.

We've seen video and images of the ship's looking for the spy balloon that may not have been from China.

Have we seen any images of the search for The shot down Lake Huron UFO?

I stand corrected... I didn't think anyone in the Yukon would make a hobby of flying balloons but your link explains it.

Apologies to Zaph for doubting you 😊

Standard operating procedure. They fly into the ADIZ and monitor our response, how long it takes for us to respond, what radio frequencies we use, radar signatures, etc. It happens 10-20 times a year, usually on the lower side, but sometimes on the higher side. They stay in international airspace, we escort them out of the ADIZ, and they go on their way.

This guy mentioned the Dutch escorted out a Russian intelligence bird over Poland, if I followed correctly

A Russian Il-20 with fighter escorts was approaching Poland from Kaliningrad, but never entered Polish airspace. They were intercepted outside Poland and escorted away from Polish airspace. The Dutch were up in the enhanced air policing mission, and were launched to escort them. It was widely reported that they escorted the Russian aircraft from over Poland to outside Polish airspace, but that was a mistranslation that was run with by multiple media sources.

This type of thing goes on constantly. It just doesn't get reported a lot, or when it does it gets reported wrong. It's used for long range training, air refueling training, intelligence gathering, and in some cases simulated missile strikes, all on one flight.

I really do think that you all aught to get off the Gatorade. Spy balloons, BS, BS, BS. Why waste a second of any intellectual thought on them. REALITY. If anyone, including China, wants to see what's in America all they've got to do is load up Google Earth and look to their hearts content. So yeah, they can't see what's underground, but neither can their multiple spy satellites that cross the US every day. You know, like the US ones that cross China every day.

And If the Chinese want to know about the average Americans day (including the alphabet agencies) they just tune in to their electronic back doors in all you technology that they sold you on the cheap.

Google Earth isn’t going to gather radio signal information, or encryption information, or a lot of things a balloon or aircraft is going to gather.
