Yeah, I wondered that also. UFO just seamed tastier in the news I guess than UAP. Most people haven't heard of the new UAP label.

I would have used the term UFO because 'object' not 'phenomenon' would have been appropriate.

From the History Channel…..The Proof Is Out There - Cubed-Shaped UFO

A point of reference perhaps?…….characteristics similar to the 2 objects of Alaska and Canada? (except for shapes)

February 2020….Medellin, Columbia …..UAP characteristics….mentioned

Altitude - 30,000 ft
Size - 10-15 (estimated)
Shape - Cube
Speed - To slow to be a plane or missile (at the moment of viewing)

Not so Cube when zoomed in…..the host is more correct to call it a polyhedron (a solid figure with many plane faces, typically more than six)…..and it doesn’t look like a Drone.

In Ancient Aliens lingo ……”you have to wonder”

Disregard, if you desire, the example references to the Navy “Batman” Balloon…..although for some, it wasn’t a Batman balloon.

In that video of the UFO, 10 or 15 feet is car sized.

We’re laughing, but overall, it's clear since 1947 this planet is under minimal observation and, worse, invasion.

All those folks who say: if they wanted to destroy us or attack us, they would have already done it.

Oh really? Unless they are doing a long-term observation to ensure when they make their move, it's no stone, person, or territory unturned.

So the length of the time from 47 to today or when they do move----is irrelevant. Also, we're going by our logic---and this phenomenon has its own logic.

I agree. You know the pilot didn't brag about shooting down a "phenomenon".

Yeah. That's always been my philosophy and to add to that, we never would have seen it coming!

That’s possible. I won’t dispute something that’s so ethereally hypothetical.
BUT…

Maybe they aren’t positive about what they want to do---it, still may depend on our actions, or 75 years to us is a short time for them.

...we never would have seen it coming

And we never saw 1947 coming.

President Biden finally speaks…..

President Biden speaks about the downing of unidentified aerial objects last weekend, as well as the Chinese spy balloon off the coast of North Carolina. He says “nothing suggests” they are related to China and he defends his handling of the issue

No new info on what the last 3 objects were…..they are still unknown

He doesn’t mention UAP or the words Unidentified Aerial Phonomena …..or UFOs or Aliens or Extraterrestrials

He does mention Unidentified Aerial Objects

Perhaps we now have a new acronym UAO’s

I just don’t see the logic in shooting down something; they didn't know what it is.
Not because of any fear of endangering something (they don’t care about that) but because they claim it was unknown or they couldn’t describe it. Or have they described the non-balloon ones? An octagon-shaped device or balloon?

I’m not an aeronautics expert, but do we have one who can know why they couldn’t see these objects close enough to determine what they are?

Didn’t they send a plane with a camera to see those NIMITZ UFOS? Why couldn’t they do the same here?

I smell a security claim of non-disclosure here.

The FED government has that right, but the idea they didn’t know what it is seems shaky.

When the White House briefed Senators yesterday, they said at least one of the objects shot down could have been a large display balloon that came loose from a used car lot. (i.e. a Gorilla, or Dinosaur balloon.)

It’s amazing that jet fighters can fly at slow speeds and yet do not get close enough to these objects, slowly enough, so that they could get eyes on them…...what a bunch of BS!

F-22

F-18

F-35

So again, why couldn’t we see what the objects were from a safe but close enough distance ???

Absolutely.

And they keep telling us what it isn't. What is the logic in saying we don't know what it is, but we know what it isn't?

Maybe that makes some sense. I mean, you can say it isn't the Empire state building flying, but the question is the one you ask.

Also, they didn't use the excuse of safety in shooting down these objects.
Why not?

But you're right---this all seems strange.

And as I wrote, they got close to that supposed speeding Nimits ufo. This slow thing in wading in the sky, they couldn't determine what that was.

Could this be the culprit:

A small, globe-trotting balloon declared “missing in action” by an Illinois-based hobbyist club on Feb. 15 has emerged as a candidate to explain one of the three mystery objects shot down by four heat-seeking missiles launched by U.S. Air Force fighters since Feb. 10.
The club—the Northern Illinois Bottlecap Balloon Brigade (NIBBB)—is not pointing fingers yet.
But the circumstantial evidence is at least intriguing. The club’s silver-coated, party-style, “pico balloon” reported its last position on Feb. 10 at 38,910 ft. off the west coast of Alaska, and a popular forecasting tool—the HYSPLIT model provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)—projected the cylindrically shaped object would be floating high over the central part of the Yukon Territory on Feb. 11. That is the same day a Lockheed Martin F-22 shot down an unidentified object of a similar description and altitude in the same general area.
There are suspicions among other prominent members of the small, pico-ballooning enthusiasts’ community, which combines ham radio and high-altitude ballooning into a single, relatively affordable hobby.
“I tried contacting our military and the FBI—and just got the runaround—to try to enlighten them on what a lot of these things probably are. And they’re going to look not too intelligent to be shooting them down,” says Ron Meadows, the founder of Scientific Balloon Solutions (SBS), a Silicon Valley company that makes purpose-built pico balloons for hobbyists, educators and scientists

Sounds like a fun hobby to me.

I guess NORAD didn’t get the memo.

Hmmm maybe I should buy one and put some research equipment on there and see if I can some photos of Antarctica before it gets shot down.

I’ve been to Antarctica participating in Operation Deep Freeze …..it’s wondrous, no doubt……but keeping it balloon debris free …would be nice 😉. It’s easier to Google Earth it 😊

Very cool. No pun intended. Back around 2003 or 2004 I had posted an article on ATS about Lake Vostok under a different username. So did you see anything unusual down there that could not be explained?

What we have to understand is this.

Speculation has run rampant as to the origin of the objects shot down and their purpose. U.S. officials have not ruled anything out, but White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said “there is no indication of aliens or extraterrestrial activity with these recent takedowns.”

link

The fact that they're even saying this is an amazing development. UFOs or UAPs are now an integral part of mainstream conversation, for better or worse. Such a thing five years ago was unimaginable.
And we have to give credit to the TTSA mob begrudgingly. However, some of us don't like their program.

BTW, these aren't yet established as being balloons. Only the Chinese one, so far.

On Sunday, the US Senate majority leader, Charles Schumer, who was briefed by the Biden administration before the Lake Huron incident, said the second and third objects were very likely small balloons. But speaking to reporters the same day, Gen Glen VanHerck, the head of Norad, said: “I’m not going to categorise them as balloons. We’re calling them objects for a reason.” He said he wasn’t able to say how they stayed aloft, but speculated there could be a balloon inside or some type of propulsion mechanism. So far, only the first object has been attributed to China.

I did 3 tours there as a young knucklehead and to busy doing my job 12 on 12 off…spent lots of off time sleeping, gambling and drinking. Being cognitive of UFOlogy aspects were not in the cards, during that period of my life 😉….the bottom line to your question is No.

It was an experience of a lifetime…..I remember the pristine and serenity of it all.

One of a few crazy things I’ve done…...was to swim butt naked in Lake Vanda in order to be awarded a Lake Vanda Swim Club patch. Google Lake Vanda Swim Club, Antarctica. The U.S. Polar Bear Club has got nothing on me….😉
