Someone on Twitter reported the skies in Montana were very busy at that time. He counted 9 jets...

Discounted an attached video, because it was from the satelite reentry burn up. But the 9 jets were not writter about by that person....

i remember when Branson ballooned across the Atlantic and if i recall right the Chinese threatened to shoot him down going the pacific side as he became one of the many to try/fail to circumnavigate the world until 99...

if you can send a crew (with food/air/water) around the world as they did in 99 it'd be interesting to see what they can cram into the same space/weight constraints today.

U.S. Fighter Jets Are About To Get Infrared Sensors That Could Be Huge For UFO Reporting

I was recently involved in a project that tasked me with deeply contemplating the technology that could be brought to bear when it comes to learning more about unidentified flying objects, regardless of their origin. During this process, it hit me that just as the proliferation of new fighter-borne active electronically scanned array (AESA) radars was key in detecting mysterious objects with low radar cross-sections that were flying in the vicinity of U.S. Navy fighter aircraft, a reality that The War Zone was first to report on in detail, the looming Pentagon initiative to field very capable infrared search and track systems (IRSTs) could have even a larger impact. It could even serve as the final technological element needed to springboard potentially revolutionary data collection on the phenomenon. As it sits now, not only is the Navy's Super Hornet fleet slated to get IRSTs very soon, but the Air Force's fighter aircraft tasked with protecting the homeland, and the F-15C, in particular, are also set to get these sensors.

What is IRST? IRST is one way to detect and track objects that emit electromagnetic radiation – or infrared signatures. More simply put, it's a type of sensor system that can detect and track threats at long ranges

Perhaps. But by the Brigadier General in an announcement referencing an action by the USAF?

I'm pretty sure they identified it well enough to ascertain that it wasn't a manned craft - then were granted permission to shoot it down.

They just haven't shared much in the way of information on it. Yet were fine to detail the when and where side of things.

This may not be any kind of exotic aircraft. If a foreign actor wanted to test our radar and our reaction time, something approximating this balloon is a very cheap and low-tech way they could do it.

What is going on here? I can't recall another time when something like this happened---the US military shooting down UFOs the size of cars. Coming off an incident where they shoot down a Chinese balloon.

Can anyone remember anything like this ever happening?

All of a sudden shooting down a balloon and another another UAP is being reported and commented on by DOD and the POTUS but the Tic-Tac, which intercepts highly encrypted communication between a nuclear powered battleship and a 100 million dollar plane to meet at a CAP point is not fired upon (at least that has been publicly mentioned). Commanders Fravor & Dietrich talk about an interaction with the tic-tac that sounds like a game a aerial chicken and it's NOT shot down. Strange stuff.

China is apperently seeing these as well now.

North of Anchorage is where I was lucky enough to see what I now believe was a tic-tac ufo.

Back then I hadn't heard of the tic-tac ufo and this was before the pentagon admitted UAPs were real and all that.

It's cool witnessing whatever this is unfold because I know what I saw and these ufo or uaps are truly out there. It's a trip that's for sure.

This is where I posted about spotting a ufo back in 2014.

We were standing in the kitchen and suddenly into our view appeared the object. It was headed in the opposite direction of the airplane towards mt. Redoubt, yet slightly to the left from our point of view.

At this point I went out onto the back deck and just watched at this thing until I couldn't anymore.

It was oval/oblong in shape and very bright/plain white in color.

It was completely absent of wings and seemed totally silent. The thing just hovered in a fixed position,'moving at a consistent speed until out of sight.

One thing is for sure. Even if some of these things are of ET origin, the official story will be that they are all Chinese spy balloons. That first balloon basically provided the perfect cover story and doomed all of them to the ash heap.
