Yep, I saw his video last night. Props to him for showing dedication to his profession and viewers, notwithstanding his grief and mourning.

I, too, can't believe some people are still being found alive, God bless them.

On a similar, but different note. I found a website that covers EQs in real-time. It's informative and very interactive.

You can view Earth in 3D: earthquake.co...
or
Just the data: earthquake.co...
or
A nifty dd/ww/mm animated timeline: earthquake.co...

There are other options and enough filters to play with, yet not too geeky. They're even working on a predictions page.

A 4.8 (5.0 in some reports) hit Croatia about 90 mins. ago. It was felt in Trieste, Italy.

It's very shallow, too.

That is the same plate movement that is still shaking a bit of Romania. We will see if that pushes the Italy side of the plate causing a larger quake on the Italy side. The boundary runs right through East Italy.

Yes, I'm keeping an eye on the progression. The wave may stop there and reflect back towards Turkey. If that's the case we should see some more 4 or 5's hit Romania again in a couple of days.

Turkey was just hit with a 6.4! It is still at the same depth as the two 7's. I don't think we have seen the end of movement in Turkey.

There is nasty looking seismic cluster in sea West of Greece down from island zakynthos.....

It might be nothing, and it could be something....

The recent 6.4 quake is on the edge of the same plate that the cluster West of Greece is on. It makes sense. The quake off the coast of Greece initiates a wave that travels East and, when it hits the edge of the plate, causes the Turkey quake which helps to dissipate the wave before it bounces back Eastward.

I think what we are seeing in Turkey is the line of mountains that runs between two disparate plates is fracturing. The two plates may very well connect in the near future with a true break, not just a fault. The 6.4 today is on the Southwest end of that range. All the quakes we have seen since the 7's have been stretching along this range towards the Northeast. The boundary of the other plate ends near the Northeast end of the range.

Time will tell.

When a true break occurs between the plates, the 7's will look like nothing. It will not be a pretty sight.

It's would be the end times then there
i doubt houses could withstand something near 9 there , even 8 is too much for many buildings.

I contacted my son in Cyprus asking if he had felt it (East of the island) his words were "Yep, good little rumble! Milly (his cat) felt it too, had her ears back".
I really wasn't expecting that given it was a whole 1.0 lower on the Richter Scale than the previous two biggys.
Some CCTV and video footage is starting to appear of the actual quake as it happened. Quite frightening to watch the ripple waves running through.... looks like the waves in the movie Tremors.

Note that when the big quakes hit a few weeks ago the moon phase was at full and today this 6.3 takes place on the new moon.

Was there any other planetary alignment like Jupiter, pretty sure that the last one had not only the full moon but other plants lined up. I'll see I can find where I saw that and if it is bogus
